Too many people think it's the big ticket or no moves
If a move makes sense and helps the team without giving up much then do it - dmarsden2988
I don't think that at all actually. But I don't see him as a big upgrade, and to give up assets for him as a rental doesn't make sense |

Seravalli put out an article on Timo Meier, and listed 5 potential fits for him: Rangers, Devils, Penguins, Lightning, and Jets. Mentioned that the Debrincat return is a comparable here, which was a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
I hate how late the deadline is this year. Wish it was sooner so it could just be over with already. The rumors are gonna be nonstop for the next month and a half. |

I love chaos.
Kinda hope it only costs us Holtz + 1st. No one’s trading for him unless they have a contract in place. |

Eventually something needs to be done about the slow starts to games because come playoff time that's a pretty surefire way to lose when you can't start on time. |

Stole 3 points in the last 2 games when we deserved 0. Move on and start (frank)ing starting on time. |

Blackwood let in a horrible shot in OT but played amazing in regulation. Little to no help from the team in front of him and really carried to this point. Hopefully his last couple of games is something he can build on for the rest of the season. |

So 10M is Meier’s qualifying offer. Could we sign him for less? Could we do 8x8? I know the cap will continue to go up, but 10 just seems like so much. Then if we wanna get Brat for 8x8 it’ll be that much tighter. I can’t get over 6M for Palat.
We could possibly roll out a lineup of
Palat-Hughes-Meier (10m?)
Sharangovich (3m?) -Hischier-Bratt (8m?)
Zetterlund (1.5m?) Boqvist (1.5m?) -Mercer
Foote-McLeod (1.5m?) -Bastian (2m?)
Seigenthaler-Hamilton
Graves (4.5m?) -Marino
Hughes-Nemec (about 1M each)
Bahl (1m?)
Vanecek
qualify Blackwood (3m?)?
If my calculations are correct, this has us at just about 85M. Maybe some of the kids get less? Idk what their qualifying offers would have to be. Schmid would save us a couple mil over Blackwood. I wouldn't mind bringing back Tatar with how good he's looked this year, or Haula to play 3rd line center, but space will be limited.
Like I've said before, we're in a very valuable couple of years with Vanecek, Mercer, Hughes and Nemec being on affordable deals, and Holtz if we keep him. |

It’s fun to dream but my guess is we don’t get Meier |

Nobody is signing Meier to his QO. Whoever trades for him will sign him to a long term extension, which is expected to be ~8x8.5M range. There's already been reports that if the Sharks like an offer from someone, they'll let them discuss an extension before making the trade. As great as a fit he is we more than likely are not getting him, so no reason to even worry about the cap implications. |

Include Sharangovich in the deal. He has potential but feel he makes lazy plays half the time. Not worth 3mil |

On 32 Thoughts when talking about the Canucks and teams in on Horvat, Friedman said the Devils are in on something as well, but hes not sure if its Horvat or something else. |

Its Quinn Hughes.
I car hear Bill now: "Hughes, to Hughes, to Hughes for the Overtime game winner! The devils are Stanley Cup Champions!" |

He also mentioned that the Devils are indeed one of the team interested in Timo Meier. He was very vague about everything. |

Honestly Blackwood was stellar for you guys last night. 70 shot attempts and 40 shots on net the guy was really solid. Especially given some of the turnovers and high risk chances that he faced. The OT goal I am sure he wants back, but also have to wonder if he didn't try to stay a bit higher as it was the same shooting spot Donato went high with for the first two Kraken goals. Might have just gotten in his head a bit thinking Burakovsky was going to also try to hit the same spot.
Devils are definitely for real though, been a while but they are definitely back as a team you do not want to really face.
