I could see Laf being the one who goes, based on the LW thing and Othmann next up specifically. I don’t think they’d just willingly get rid of him, but that they’d come up with a deal that made sense, ie-not for a UFA like Kane. Maybe chychrun. Someone with term that won’t break the bank.

You could decrease the pressure on everyone else collectively tho. Maybe Fox could do 21 instead of 25 minutes a game for example. That wouldn’t be a bad thing. We don’t want them going to 4-5 D in a playoff game, I know I don’t. My opinion is Schneider doesn’t get enough ice time simply because his partners aren’t worthy of crazy ice time for the most part

If ARI wasn’t asking for the world then sure. But the cost is way too high for something that’s a complete luxury. Trade for a cheap LD and use that to tier capital on a top6 RW that can bury shots if you must.

That’s probably why he hasn’t been traded yet tho. No one will ever meet that price. He’s been rumored to be traded it’s gotta be two years by now

My LD target would be Zadorov. Big, physical 6’6 250 LD that has this year and next left on his contract at 3.75. Traded back in 2021 for a 3rd and I’d say his value is around there or slightly higher. I’d be willing to give DAL 1st to get him or a 2nd and Jones or something along those lines. Not sure CGY trades him bc they’re battling for the last few playoff spots but CGY was rumored to be interested in moving him in the off-season.

We traded a 1st for Copp, I’d be ok with it. That “3rd” pair could pick up minutes and take some of the load off the top 2 pairs. They might actually be our best defensive pair out of the 3.

I know he played well, just saying we gave up a 1st not knowing he would put those numbers up. Worked out well. At least Zadorov is signed past this year and if it doesn’t work out we could always move him in the off-season to recoup some of what we paid.
