This team is a lot more like the 03-04 team than like the 05-06 team.

first move is they need to upgrade the defense (RD), then probably add a young vet winger for the 3rd line and bring up UPL full time to figure out what they have.

so not really participating with team practice yet.. i know i have been ocassionally looking for updates on him. I thought he said after the injury that he might be ready for the playoffs.. he would be a HUGE add. also need to edge rush to step up if we are going to compete with Burrow and Mahomes

Who would you move for this RD you want: Krebs, Quinn, Cozens, Mittelstadt, VO, Sammy? Would you move multiple prospects as well?

Yeah nothing contact wise, he's been out there for walk through's. Yeah hopefully Rousseau turns it up another notch. Be Nice if we got a nice stinker out of Cincinnati this weekend and make the road a little less rocky.

Middlefat and VO would be moved in a millisecond.. but they dont get you want you need. i would entertain trading those two prospects and picks. if someone values girgs i would throw his arse in there too (but i doubt that) unless its to a playoff team and then you aren't getting an NHL roster RD

Your post reads:

I would trade both vo and middle fat but they suck, for someone good.
I would trade girgs, who sucks, to a playoff team.
He sucks , but a only a good team , like a playoff team would want him.

you are the one that has been touting him as a player a playoff bound team would want.. i think that contract doesn't make that happen.

what i was saying i would trade those players but that gets us poop. we need to pony up picks and prospects to get somethign of value

He needs to actually practice. But that would help the defense out big time

Sure letโ€™s trade our depth for no reason.

Did you see how bad hino and asplund were last night??

I hate olofsson and I would not trade them right now or maybe even in the next year or so. Kulich Rosen etc. arenโ€™t nhl ready. If they are ready. You will see Quinn / JJ type development path where they would have to adjust to the speed.

We have the best offense in the NHL and people want to mess with it. Beyond hilarious

That best offense is driven mainly by one line. The Cozens-Quinn-Peterka line has had some really nice nights, but they also have nights where they're a liability. If healthy scratches are even a consideration, let alone a reality, there are still issues. The other two lines are worthless. You can upgrade there without disrupting anything.

is part of lighting up the offense putting up 6 to 9 goals vs backup goalies on sharks, habs, wings, wings, blue jackets, etc?

the holes on the back end are glaring and honesty we are probably too far behind to make a move and leap frog all the teams between us and the 8th seed

off season they will need to move guys up front, back end and prospects/picks to get this right or we will be in the same boat next year if riding on the vibes

the sens and flyers shut down that one line with ease in the past week and we all saw how those games ended

if we ever got in the post season vs a team like the rangers, bruins or bolts expect the same over a short 7 game series

This team desperately needs a top six winger if they want to compete this year or next. JJ and Quinn arenโ€™t ready and might never be this year or next (for too 6 role)

The sens didn't actually shut down that line. They had the highest shot quality generated of any line on either side. Their goaltender and post came in clutch. That will happen from time to time.

They were all just asleep against Philly. No doubt they lack depth though. Curious what they do with the bottom six with a few contracts expiring.

I think its a bit panic like to suggest that neither one of those two will be ready for a top six role. Its a lot like what we heard about Cozens. Theyre going through predictable struggles at their age and the fatigue is starting to creep in.
