So which is it don’t rush the prospects which was said all offseason and gets repeated constantly or prospects don’t need AHL time. Can y’all pick a damn lane and stay in it.
- ImThatGuy

Each prospect is developed independently & take different amounts of time
There’s not ONE way to do it

Idk which camp you're lumping me into, but my point was that Quinn and Peterka graduated from the AHL. They've gotta work through their NHL struggles in the NHL.

I’m pretty sure EVERYONE here wanted them in the lineup to start the season
- jdfitz77

Okay, and I want Kulich and Savoie in the lineup as well.

Does that mean because we all want them here that they are ready to play?

brett murray would perform better in the nhl
- homiedclown

Again, doesn’t matter
No one was saying Brett Murray should make the opening night roster & our Captain should be shipped out

Not necessarily
But Quinn & Peterka tore up the AHL last year
It was entirely reasonable that they’d get their shot with us this season

And, we suck at home.

9 - 10 - 2. Putrid. You ain't making the playoffs if you can't play .500 at home. And you can't play .500 at home with an .818 save %.

👏👏👏 good post
They’ve shown they can play at this level
Gotta let them work through it
Becoming consistent is part of development

Man, we can blame the goaltending and it needs to improve. But we are really bad in front of those goalies. The blueprint is forecheck hard on the Sabres D and don't allow that quick transition.

Plenty
Mitts is on pace for 50pts and Olofsson is on pace for 30+ goals

If we added at forward, it would’ve been Quinn & Peterka who stayed in the AHL- not Mitts or Olofsson or Okposo or Girgs who’d have been dumped

- jdfitz77

I forgot about Olofsson being on the third line. Lets put it this way...TB as an example makes trades every year and they don't worry about holding anyone back. Maybe different situations but the cream rises to the top. If a player is that deserving to be up here they will find a way to work him in, also in the process the said prospect isn't rushed to the NHL. Not every prospect has to be on the first or second line at the start. I'm not saying they do but maybe 22 and 77 need a little more time in the A.

As a side note, Mitts could get to 50 pts and he's never going to be accepted here, he's the most traded Sabre on CF...lol I'd say he is a trade for another younger player who needs a change of scenery. Maybe in the off season. JMO

UPL last two starts his sv% is under .900.

Without the Sabres scoring 6 goals they lose those starts.

He has 4 quality games out of 13 this year.

It’s concerning that he’s the Sabres best option currently.

Or maybe they need to learn how to work through their slumps so they can develop consistency

If we can upgrade from Mitts or Olofsson, then fine
But i sure don’t care what “the fans wil accept”

50point a for a 3rd line player is REALLY good
And so is 30goals

Tired of hearing about Olofsson being on a 30 goal pace. Damn I hope he gets there makes us a better team. But if he has another 2 month break he will be lucky to hit 20.

So is everyone in the NHL. Somehow, almost everyone else in the NHL manages to get saves but us. Tell me, did Seattle's goalie get more help than Comrie tonight, or was he just NHL caliber as opposed to the AHL tweener we have?
Their goalie had a blocker stop on a Tage one timer. Comrie couldn't do that in 20 tries.

He’s a young goalie that’s winning games
I’m well aware he isn’t Hasek

Idk what other better goalie options u think we have

4 useful d-men we’re put on waivers earlier this year as well while the injury excuse was fully in effect.

The Sabres had every chance to improve both in the off-season and during the season, and have chosen not to for whatever reason.

This team needed 2 additional wins and would be in a playoff spot, they chose to do nothing.

I know, got ripped apart for bringing it up

100% true, but after being evaluated at the halfway point maybe being sent down until they get their scoring touch back isn't a bad thing. I haven't seen Kulich play so this is just spitballing but giving him a series of games here can't hurt. Again, just for "evaluation purposes". After scoring 7g in 7 gms in the world jrs, maybe he keeps it going.

So a guy that has 270 career starts to a guy that has 39 starts. Comrie isn't in that class and if you expected that then well. Said are goaltending needs to be better, but so does the team.

Whatever is best for their development is fine by me

A good international tourney for 2weeks doesn’t mean Kulich is ready for the NHL either though

Kinda unfortunate cause Comrie was good last year and seems like an overall great guy. I hope he can turn it around but...

I mean how much better? They outplayed Seattle. The scored 3 goals. They gave up a whooping 22 shots. WTF else do they need to do? They're not a lock down defensive team. They need a few friggen saves instead of swiss cheese.

Nothing to say that’s what’s gonna happen either
If u wanna assume the worst, then feel free
That’s not my style though

Goal scores can be streaky
25-30goals is helpful- no matter what games they’re scored in
