Obviously I think Asplund can help this team, but if they are so locked in on their wingers that they won't play him, I wouldn't mind a trade. Anything that flips an F for D is good with me. They probably need several of those deals to get things in better balance.

You're right he isn't active but if you check the depth chart they have him in the lineup

I don't know the rules but if a player is on waivers then I take it he doesn't count towards the active roster

I'm inclined to believe this is what they did, but Id be more sure of that if say, against the Jets, suddenly Clague was rotated out for bryson (I believe he's still exempt)
