Not saying its hurt his value.

But he does only have a .63ppg this year. After having over a ppg last year

- DirtyDan

I think that ppg is closer to where he was for his career. I think they got into track meets with so many teams that a lot of stats were inflated. I don't know how I feel about taking him back. I'd be interested in him on the third line as a wing, I guess. I think a lot of our success is due to our team speed and he certainly doesn't fit that profile.

Safe to assume that Isiah Mackenzie has played his last game as a Bill? I would think that Shakir and/or Beasley handles the slot role.

I don't see the coaching staff giving up on him.

McDermott wasn't afraid to sit him last year - I don't see why that wont' happen again given the drops in recent games. He doesn't do anything that someone else can't do. Hines can easily handle the jet sweeps.

With Allen’s arm and ability to throw downfield it’s honestly amazing that they’ve been incapable of getting a true deep threat on the field

I think they have plenty of guys that can go deep. I think the bigger issue was the line holding up long enough to give Allen the chance to throw deep. I'd argue that they were at their best at the beginning of the season when they had a quick and short passing game and then sprinkled in the deep shots when the D started to move up.

They do? Diggs can obviously. Davis occasionally can but lacks true speed.

McKenzie absolutely cannot, neither can Shakir at this moment, and that was never Beasley or Crowders game.

Sanders was good downfield last year. But they failed to replace him this year

You forgot Brown.
They've also sent the backs on wheel routes as well as sending Knox deep on occasion. I think the days of the classic burners are over. That said, they do have way too much redundancy in Shakir, Beasley, Mackenzie and Crowder. That's why I think Mackenzie is the odd man out (and Shakir probably is when Crowder is healthy).

Brown is 32 and has 1 catch this year.

And I disagree it’s over for deep threats type receivers

They should hopefully have Shakir as the full time slot, draft a guy in round 1 or 2 to be the future #2 and get a guy who’s a burner as their #4

I mean it was a spectacular 40 yard TD though.

You do realize that in the last game we had 2 long touchdown passes, right? In watching back some of the various replays of shorter passes you can see that they regularly sent someone deep, even if it was just for show.

I can't think of any pure deep threats anymore. There are guys with crazy speed like Hill that can run deep but usually run shorter routes. I don't think we're seeing the James Lofton types anymore. Then again, maybe you are saying that we should get a guy like Hill. I don't know, the vast majority of the guys that are gotten for speed are usually one-trick ponies (Hines, Marquez Stevenson, etc). They might get one every now and then but the majority of the time they are invisible.

James Lofton is a HOF’er. He wasn’t just a deep threat.

And to the first bolded, the telecast said that Brown TD was the first 25+ yard TD pass in over 7 weeks for the Bills I believe.

Friedman discusses trading Sam Reinhart out of Florida because they're doing poorly and I was wondering if he should come back to Buffalo for a 2nd round pick

While we are at it. Let’s trade for Eichel and get Risto back.

Seems right. 😂😂

Eric Comrie is in goal tonight, per Don Granato. Ukko-Pekka Luukkone is sick. Vinnie Hinostroza and Rasmus Asplund are in for JJ Peterka and Jack Quinn. Henri Jokiharju is in for Jacob Bryson. #Sabres

Can you say showcasing?

Also Bryson out and Clague stays in

I think the Bills being able to use Beasley and John brown called up at the same time.

My bold prediction is that they play way more than just 4 plays a game.

In a way. They were saving them till playoffs

I have no inside knowledge. Just a hunch

Comrie?

I just don’t see how they can only carry UPL and Anderson. If UPL were to get injured we’re gonna ride Subban?

I wouldn't pay him more than Milano but someone will. I think he gone
