I think some posters thought krebs was the main piece in the eichel trade. When the main piece was tuch. The actual proven nhl player.

Krebs value is inflated in their minds.

For me, he was the final piece required to make the deal.
Of course the guy from the buffalo area was the #1 priority.
If he does well great, but Krebs wasnt the main guy

- Boss34

Krebs was supposedly a “must have” piece though

Listen, I think Krebs is a solid bottom 6 player, but thank god Tuch is as good as he is. Because Krebs looks like he will be lucky to cross the 10 goal/30 point threshold down the road. His skill level is not what I thought it was

He has the heart and brain but the rest just isn’t there

Reminds me of Tim Kennedy

Could be, doesn't mean Krebs can't turn into what he was drafted for, his hands and passing. His profile was maybe 20 goals and 35-50 assists. Give him Kulich and Rousek or Savoie and let's see.

Krebs is easily one of the first guys i see the second wave of prospects coming in to replace.
- hubie

He could easily end up as our next Girgensons just as likely

I have rarely seen any goalie, ever, pulled at 2 goals. So, you want to pull him at 3 - 0? OK, but it's not changing a thing in the game at that point. Philly's goalie was never giving up 3 for us to get back to a tie, and that's being nice and saying Philly doesn't score number 4.

If Andy was to have a bad game and I could choose which one, it would be the one where my offense put 0 goals. Last night sucks in that 2 points got away, and our young team showed they weren't ready to put a big win by and turn the page (just like against Boston then Ottawa). But I don't think Andy is all of the sudden a worse option for one game than either Comrie or UPL.

- lacaprup

We had plenty of chances to get one by their goalie. All you need is one to get things going.

Not pulling Andy showed me they were complacent with a loss.

When you play in a professional league you can't be complacent with losing. Thats what bred this last 11 years.

+ what better game to get Comrie back in to see some rubber than a shellacking like that. No one would have cared had he let a few in.

Andy gives us a better chance to win any game they play. Comrie is a nobody. I couldn't care less if he's here next season. There will be a half dozen Erik Comries available this offseason. There always are. The evidence says Comrie is our worst of three options in net on any given night in 2023. He's a desperation start only unless UPL or Andy really fall off a cliff.
- lacaprup

So you dont think there is any correlation between when the sabres played their best hockey? They werent scoring 5 goals with Comrie in there.

Don't know what people expect from Krebs. He was never gonna be a big goal scorer. Give him some real linemates and let him be that 40-50 assist guy he is meant to be.
- Buff36

This is a joke right? 40-50 assists? How many guys in the league get that every season, seriously?

He's 42 he should be able to live with his mistakes if he's pulled. He's not a young kid.

You play to win and pulling the goalie tells your team to wake up. But obviously Donnie/KA aren't playing to win as we have a # of guys who aren't getting replaced cause "vibes"

- DirtyDan

I was at the game, I called for the pulling of Anderson as well.

Just playing devils advocate.

We could have scored and bailed him out... didnt happen

Those first 2 made him look like a beer league goalie.

When the goalie you trust to make the easy ones doesn't its a bit draining on the bench IMO.

Feelings and vibes.

Can’t pull Grandpa.

Again I think it has to do with knowing you have a goalie who can’t play very much as is and if you pull him it’s a waste.

It’s going to becom a problem, IMO. The Sabres next 3 months are very busy.

- ImThatGuy

Anderson sounds like a great guy, and a great story, but I hated bringing him back for two reasons. The first was that it allowed them to not really have address the goaltender position. The second was that Luukonen got sent down despite being the best goaltender in training camp, and now they're in a spot where they have to play musical chairs with the roster in order to keep 3 goaltenders. Now, I am not going to be a victim of revisionist history, and ignore the rough start Luukonen had when Comrie went down, but he's still the best goaltender they have, and they should have treated him like that from Day One this year.

I would rather work on the long term goals of the organization not for the next 5 months alone.
- hubie

I'd rather win, you know, with the top scoring offense in the league.

When is that gonna happen again?

You realize comrie isnt a top prospect right?

I'm all for the guy if he's in the pipes, but he needs to break down the door over UPL right now, and I still am firm Andy is better than either once a week. I am and have been a firm 3 goalie guy too. Bye bye, Vinnie.

There's certainly one start somewhere in this busy stretch for Comrie, but he better make it good one. He has zero benefit of the doubt

Just looked it up

Last year there were 72 guys who had at least 40 assists

That’s about 2 per team, a little over if you want to get technical.

The entire list is full of stars

Krebs gonna be a top-75 player and a star? And a top 2-3 player on our team?

No. That’s some pretty high hopes.

Do you seriously want to question his play this season? Go game by game and look at his numbers. Please stop. He's been our best goalie by a mile.
