Defense still needs some work. Hopefully Joker can make a difference. - Buff36
The thing with our 2nd pair is that we need to determine if Jokiharju can be a steady partner for Power as he develops
Power is a rookie
He’s gonna have his ups & downs, & he’s gonna have bad games- & even stretches of bad games
Took Dahlin 3+ years to develop into an AllStar
Hopefully it doesn’t take Power that long
Finding a good partner for him could (should) help
I still think that guy *might* be Jokiharju in the long term
But bringing in a more established Vet to be a bridge & help Power develop over the next couple seasons also seems like a very reasonable idea
A guy like Murphy from Chicago has been (almost relentlessly) suggested
He seems like the right type of guy to bring in (to me at least)
I just wouldn’t wanna overpay for him (like many Hawks fans seem to want)
What i mean by that is:
-no 1st
-no top prospect (Rosen, Savoie, Kulich, etc)
I’d be willing to give up something like:
-one of our extra 2nds, plus a mid round pick or one of our mid-tier forward prospects should (easily imo) be in the ballpark of what could get a deal done
the great tim connolly peaked at 18 goals - homiedclown
And I’m not saying that’s horrible
Obviously we were all hoping for more out of Mitts when drafted in the top10
But if he turns out to JUST be an 18goal, 50point 3rd liner….
Well, that’s not so bad
I think tonight was an audition for who is not going to be here long..... Bryson, lybushkin, and the old timer in net.
But I have to say that the rest of them were just as bad. - THENINELINE
You are funny! Even Hamilton made fun of people suggesting this garbage in his post game comments. He must have seen some of these suggestions. - sabrebuzz
Well if it was Hamilton, I am good. And even better with you bringing it up. Must have been just like your Krebs idea. A Joke!! Or maybe you were serious.
I got to meet lacup, the night wasnt a complete failure 👊 - Boss34
The community grows stronger. Last night was just... off. I'm going to rewatch today and take some notes before tonight.
One thing I am thinking is Meatballs has to somehow work on getting these young, emotional guys more steady Eddy every day. When you play an 82 game season, players cannot live and die on every game like I do. It leads to total duds like yesterday, IMO.
Nice. We ought to have a HB night one of these times.
Meet at pearl and swan for a fight real quick and then catch a game - Hank Balling
I'm all down for that, but I'll be damned if I'm walking from Pearl and Swan to the arena in this (frank)ing wind and cold. I'd rather get into the arena at 6 and go to the Aud club in the 100 level or any of the side bars in the arena.
The young Sabres have more than once this year put a string of good to great games together. Sometimes a good run is followed by a real stinker or two.
Hold on cause the road to success is bumpy but at least it helps if you are going in the right direction.

Good Post!! Funny Donnie brings up learning experience alot, but for a lot of these kids it is. Young team, I expect them to be flying tonight. They were just off last night.
Goal #1 is on one Sabre and one Sabre only: Don Granato. He chose to put the Jost line, with Lyubushkin and Bryson, on the ice for a defensive zone draw.
Win the draw, puck gets to Boosh, and he fails to get it out of the zone opting for a soft pass to a covered Olofsson who, surprise surprise, doesn't get to the puck before a Flyer is already cycling it to where it's back down in our corner. Bryson is there first, but is easily taken off the puck. The Flyers do a classic low cycle, and three Sabres watch McEwen calmly walk in and score a garbage goal.
