Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) has not been cleared for football activities.
The team hopes to know more about Tagovailoa's situation by Wednesday, but the fact he hasn't been cleared for any football activities isn't a great sign. Players in concussion protocol don't need to clear protocol to return to the field in some capacity, which could be enough to suggest he'll have a hard time suiting up in the Wild Card Round against the Bills. Still, the team is reportedly hopeful Tua will be able to play, which makes this situation one to monitor -- as we have for much of the season. If Tagovailoa is unable to go, either Teddy Bridgewater or Skylar Thompson would get the nod, although Bridgewater did miss Week 18 with injuries to his knee and finger.
