Wasn't just you boss, just answering your Post. And I am happy for Olofsson, hopefully this gives him some confidence to explode, it makes us a better team. But don't think it's ignorant for people to say he's played like sh!t for long periods, cause he has.
- Buff36

Olofsson. Has been garbage for most of the year. But when he isn’t your “main” guy and is more of a depth player. He is fine.

He is off the top line and buried on the 3rd or 4th line. Which I think slots him much better. On a good team. He is a on a 3rd line and used on pps.

Olofsson being a 1 trick pony has been identified and Adams knows he isn’t a long term solution with only a 2 year deal.

Agreed.

If Mitts can keep this level of play going the rest of the season I think everyone would be good with him sticking around. His draft status is still in people's minds IMO. He was a top 10 pick he should be more than a 3rd liner, but truth be told with how the draft goes, once you're out of the top 3 it becomes a crap shoot.

I'll take a 50 point season out of him. Also yesterday was one of his best games. He was really moving out there.

As for the goaltending yesterday both UPL and Fleury made saves they had no business making. But then let in a weaker goal. It was the most entertaining game I have watched since 06/07 when you knew no matter what they were going to comeback.

My biggest complaint on Tuch has been he is so big and so fast but he never really uses his body and finishes off a check. Well last night especially in OT he was p!ssed off and he was lowering the boom. If this team can make the playoffs that's the type of play they're going to need out of him.

This team is not perfect, we all know that. They need to find a partner for Power and figure out some things offensively but they're leading the league in scoring and Power and Dahlin are playing as well as we can imagine at this point. I know it's been said a few times but this team is giving off some serious 05/06 vibes...

Didn't think about the line Krebs would fit in in Rochester. That would be another advantage of him going down. But I don't think they will necessarily do it either but it's an idea.

I’m sure this is true, but it’s silly at this point.

He doesn’t even make a lot of $.

Nobody said trade them for anything we can get. Seen people say there value might not be very high.

Its ignorant to call him a black hole , pylon or to suggest the coach is a fool for playing olo over vinny hinny or Elmer asplund.

Imagine bashing coach don, like a poster is smarter 😀

Guys on pace for 30 goals, like it or not.

It’s crazy and ridiculous.

If Rosen and Kulich dominated the World junior and produced like JJ last year at 1 point per game pace

Sure I could see that they are nhl ready

But they did neither

Olofsson is my pylon and I’m good with keeping the band together.

Asplund. Hino akd giving Krebs his own line by moving olofsson and mitts is a terrible terrible terrible idea.

Depth chart wise. Mitts and olofsson are slotted properly for what they do

It’s very simple. Let’s say the NHL speed is 100 mph and fast

The AHL is much slower and less skilled. So going 65

Your bodies have a thing call muscle memory. Your body will gear down and get used to the slower pace

If you have ever played competitive hockey in your life. You will know what I am talking about.

- Sabretooth9

Your analogy makes sense. But I don't think it holds true in every case that going down, especially for short periods, will take away everything a player has learned. Players are sent up and down all the time to help them adjust or improve their games. Many don't but many seem to do it on every team in the league. Shame on the player for not making accomodations if he wants to be an NHLer. I can think of one tall guy who seemed to come out of the AHL where he spent some time after being an NHLer to become a monster at the NHL level once he went back. Hm, what is his name?

Not saying you don't make sense but I don't believe in absolutes. IMO if Krebs does not take personally and is smart, and it strikes that he is, he will take advantage of going from being a fourth line player to playing as a first line player. As I told the other gentleman, I don't think the Sabres will do this but I think it would not turn out as terrible as you think it might if they do.

I agree with ya

Imo, if we were gonna trade Olofsson, add one of our extra 2nds & get an upgrade
Don’t just trade Olofsson for a 3rd or another 2nd or whatever
That wouldn’t make sense to me
He’s a goal scorer- and NOT a “PP specialist”
Olofsson should have decent value
There’s always teams looking for scoring

You don't send down a young kid who has finally started to figure it out, who has earned the coaches trust to be out there in overtime. What sort of message does that send? It would ruin his confidence.

This isn't sending Tage down like they did 2 seasons ago, this would have been like sending Tage down in the middle of last season when he started his coming out party (obviously the points aren't on the same level) but that is something you just don't do.

There are several d men that can go on waivers and if they get claimed, they get claimed.

- Stripes77

Great but it seems that the Sabres don't want to lose anyone to waivers. So if that is the case what do you do?

And I do not see Krebs as having figured it out yet. He has moments but he still needs work in my opinion. But I will assume you are right. What do you do if they don't want to lose any of the players on their current roster, especially if they lose one when they send a defenseman down when Jokiharju comes back? Just not keep three?

So he's on pace for 30 goals, still has to get there. Doesn't take away 2 months of being nothing a Blackhole. Jesus before last night he scored like 3 goals in the last 25gms. Never have bashed Granato, ? some of his decisions. Actually was probably one of the first posters wanting them to hire him.

Maybe we rotate all 3 goalies thru the next stretch of games? Quite a few games in the next week/month.

Fitz, clague and asplund seem like the obvious choices for waivers.

As good as clague as played, I think he's living off power.
I wont be shocked if he's one of the waiver guys.

Olo may not score for another month.

When it's all said and done, the Sabres/ the don are not benching him for vinny or Elmer.

When the Sabres/ KA signed the extension, they got exactly what they were looking for. 25 goal guy.

Hope he does score 25, but he could just as easily go into another 2 month bender and barely hit 20.

Congrats. Tage was 1 out of a million of a player going from average to a super star

It’s like saying people knew josh allen was going to be great. 50% passer from high school into college and into his 1st couple years in the nfl

Essentially took a miracle for both players to get to where they are at.

I could name 20 Sabres in the past 15 years we tried that and it didn’t work
