It’s crazy. Less than 1% of draft picks play in the nhl in their draft year. Because they need to go back to junior/college to further develop. It’s a massive difference.

The backgammon game was denied but Pocklington confirmed it. There were a bunch of side bets as well. Hard to believe but Gretz was kind of wild when he got to Edmonton. My brother-in-law who was a team physician was asked to have a chat with him about settling down and achieving his potential. He never partied as hard as a lot of the others in the team during the party years.

When it comes to “star” players in junior the age doesn’t matter, until I mention it, then I’m attacked.

(frank) me hockey fans are biased, I have to say it your way or get mocked.

In junior the “star” players show themselves at young ages 99% of the time.

They don’t always make it in pro hockey tho, not even close.

Yeah, there's a reason why under-18 distinctions are a thing in many sports, and why even the most elite athletes aren't in the big leagues at 17. It's because reality is biased in favour of 19 year-olds.
