Ruff isn’t really a coach for developing young talent. They need someone who is willing to put the players in positions to succeed and play off their strengths. Ruff is old school in constantly trying to put a square peg in a round hole then wondering why it didn’t work out.
They were playing fast fun hockey early, then they stopped. Coaching should be focused on getting them back to that spot, but it seems like they don’t care or realize.

How does John MacLean still have an nhl coaching job? He was average at best as an assistant, then a terrible head coach, and I see him here as the islanders assistant .. and they suck.

I don’t think Vanecek is longterm answer, but hoping they give him more time than Blackwood for now. Both have shown spots of being good but the hot hand goalie method only works for so long. If Fitz does anything a solid goalie would be best move they could make. But for some reason i think they’re really sold on these two.

Why the (frank) does our 2nd PP unit consist of Siegs, Haula, and Wood. Wtf is the coaching staff doing? Literally just conceding the rest of the PP.
