Written by Stevie wonder, Produced by George Martin, dedicated to Roy Buchanan. A beauty of a song. Jeff Beck has played this song every time I've seen him in concert (7 times to date) No guitarist on the planet can get as much out of that whammy bar as Beck.

I've been to some spectacular gigs, but it seems like you've been to thousands of those. Goddamn, man

I do regret not going to see him in town. This Live at Ronnie Scott’s is a great album and movie. I think I remember him saying he was kind of nervous playing there because of it being such a jazz Mecca. The documentary on him - something with a car title - is really good too.

Seeing a great artist at a relatively small venue is a treat. When he toured Blow by Blow he played O'Keefe, he could have easily filled a bigger hall, but I think he actually left money on the table for better acoustics. I was talking to an old U of W buddy about the time we saw JJ Cale at a small lecture hall. Couldn't have been more than 200 people there. No band, just JJ Cale with his guitars. Way cool.

I like Jeff Beck a lot. Respect the hell out of him. His unique talent is undeniable. But it's small doses for me, otherwise it's all a bit too much. Same with Hendrix. I lean more towards Clapton and Gilmour in truth as favorites that I listen to on repeat. And the bluesmen. Freddie King, Robert J., TBone Walker, Jimmy Reed, BB. And JJ Cale -yesss.

Obviously not comparing, but I've been to private parties (~30-40 people) with Grace Jones and Rod Stewart. Both were f'n awesome!!!

I was lucky enough to see Miles Davis at the Stratford type theatre in 1971. We were in the second row looking down onto the stage. He had the greats Keith Jarrett and Jack DeJohnette in his band that night. I loved it. I can’t say I understood much of it and it blew my tiny teenage mind. He wasn’t on the stage a lot of the time. You’d see him pace around backstage and then come out, move them all in a different direction, play for a while and then split. He was like a tiger.
We got busted driving home to the Minneapolis suburbs because the guy driving pulled into a liquor store parking lot to pee. They thought these nice white kids were about to knock it over.
