The NFL has officially declared the Bills and Bengals' Week 17 game a no contest.
This means the game is no longer in a state of postponement and will not be made up. It also means all statistics that were accumulated up to the point of the Monday evening postponement will be null and void. It's a tough development for fantasy managers who had championships riding on the outcome of Monday evening's game, but the only reasonable path forward for the league. The league has also announced it is implementing a number of playoff contingencies based on the results of this weekend's contest. If the Ravens beat the Bengals, for instance, the host of that Wild Card contest will be determined via coin flip. The AFC Championship Game could also be played at a neutral site if "the participating teams played an unequal number of games and both could have been the number one seed and hosted the game had all AFC clubs played a full 17-game regular season." This is because the seeding is now based on winning percentage instead of raw record and head-to-head tiebreakers. The league will formally vote on the proposal Friday, but we would expect it to pass.

It's only if they play each other though
- Buff36

I read it as “only if the two teams in the afc champ game played different amounts of games in the reg season”. To me, if it’s buf vs cin in that game the game would be in buf as the same number of games would’ve been played by both. (If buf wins this weekend of course)

Yeah, but if everything goes as planned this weekend (Chiefs, Bills and Bengals win), then KC gets the #1 seed and Bills have no shot at it. Plus assuming the Bills and Bengals advance in the wild card round, they are guaranteed to play @ Buffalo in Divisional round. I don’t see how this does much of anything to resolve the issues.

The other redeeming or positive thing tage had going a couple years ago, was that crazy toedrag , super quick release. I wasn't what he's doing now obviously, but it looked fancy then and now.

This may seem crazy too, but indirectly playing and practicing with eichel daily had to help his development at center.
Especially the between the leg puck dangles IMO.

* I realize he wasnt a center for most of his time with eichel. Still, he probably learned some good stuff.

Tage mentioned more than once how much it's helped practicing with Matthews the past couple of offseasons.

Arizona guys sticking together...

So is it Tage Thompsons fault if the Sabres miss the playoffs this year ?

With that logic ?

It is actually impossible to resolve the issues. There isn’t a single scenario outside of resuming the game on Monday night that could. Even suggesting that they do that at the time was grounds for immediate hatred and cancel culture (frank)ery though.

If the bills really couldn’t proceed, a bills forfeit should’ve been in order. Both teams decided not to play so the 2022 rules should just apply. Win%.

Even if they win, the only way they get home field for the AFC Championship (if they get there) is if neither Buffalo or Cincy make it there

Yep. No perfect answer at this point. The game should’ve resumed Monday night. The chiefs will get the bye though.

If both teams win this weekend, that game is played in orchard park.

If they are the 2 and 3 seeds there is no chance they play in AFC Championship game.

The nfl owners should vote against the resolution. Can’t be making poop up last minute. Sets a bad precedence.
