Nobody is talking about a cap dump though.

Talking about get actual useful players.

This team still has room for some pretty decent improvements.

It’s no secret that teams are line matching when the Sabres are on the road to play against the Cozens line and the Mitts line.

- ImThatGuy

And yet the Sabres have a solid road record,

A Cozens extension say at 7 mil leaves them about several mil below the floor next year…..

still don’t think he gets over 7.

I’d put him about 6 at a bridge deal.

- ImThatGuy

I would give cozens 7x8 all day long

Slump brought up cap dump not me. And you are right but I don't know if he's a improvement. Anyone saying he's a free ticket is wrong he's a 5 2m ticket that could blow away very quickly.

If I’m the Sabres I try and extend him but if I’m Power I don’t even talk about it this year.

I’d expect him to make a jump next season and be pretty damn elite

- sbroads24

Imagine that deal would be around 8x9m. Would either side do it?

Two questions:
1. What would you give Vancouver for Bo Horvat?
2. After acquiring Bo Horvat, what type of deal would you offer him?

That's Makar money. Sabres would be stupid to offer it. Power would be stupid to decline it.

Sure. Because they have one of the most dominant lines in Hockey current.

Are you suggesting neither of those lines could use an improvement?

Sup Boss.

What are you going to do when Girgensons gets moved or signs elsewhere as a UFA?

- ImThatGuy

Sup, Mrs. Stutzle. I wouldn't do anything, because I've felt that Girgensons needed to be off the team years ago.

So you'd only offer 8.5? I think it's in the ballpark. Couple years later and longer term.

So I think GMKA is going to stick with his goalie choices for the year. So how do we feel about trading for Dumba from the Wild, UFA at the end of this year 28 years old, good numbers and he is RH.

Thoughts?

Why is that stupid, you are buying RFA years, and could save a ton in 3yrs.

Correct. Currently Power is a good d-man. He would not be in line for a big Payday currently. He has zero reason to sign any offer before next year.
- ImThatGuy

There is every benefit to extending him ASAP. He is as close to being a sure thing as a 20 year old defenseman is going to be. If we pay now you should be getting a pretty big discount.

If this team goes 1-5-2 during that 8 game stretch they are all but in the playoffs right now.
How frustrating.

It seems low but 6 points out is a really tall task even with games in hand.

- ImThatGuy

Good thing we still have more than half a season.

Sabres are going to run into contract limit issues in the next year or so if they continue to make all their picks.

I’d have no issue moving one of the 2nds and a minor prospect or 3rd rounder for a push this year

They aren't going to have a third defenseman making big money 2 - 3 years from now.

IMO. Okposo would be great as Pres of Hockey Ops/Player Personnel.

He gets to stay around the team for leadership and whatnot and his spot gets opened up for one of the prospects.

- ImThatGuy

I agree, but what makes you think kyle at 31/32 years old is gonna want to retire?

He's been healthy mostly.

If he wants to return, they can't say no to the team captain.

After spinning everything to have buffalo look positive.

There are ways around that, such as drafting players that will take a while to get here. They've got plenty of roster spaces considering I don't think too many people are worried about losing Murray, Weissbach, etc.

Isn’t Okposo 34 now?
