Regressed all the way to the .830s in Samsonov’s case over the last bunch of games. Murray was sub par until his last game so it was good to see him put in a good one. The Rielly stuff is just smoke and probably meant to get people rielled up (apologies). Mission accomplished.

Agree goaltending has regressed. More noticeable with Samsonov than Murray TBH - he's been lousy last few starts. One thing that has been consistent is that Leafs are a possession team that has the fewest shots per minute of possession in the league. On one of those 20 pass possessions, bound to be one pass that is either behind a player or right into their skates. Shoot the (frank)en puck, after you finished shooting the (frank)en puck, shoot the (frank)en puck some more.

Timmins is decent but he’s not as strong as Holl defensively.

Please remember that recently it was Holl and Gio up against the top 6 of the opposition (they’ll still be the shutdown pair as well) and Timmins was on the third pairing playing against the bottom 6. His offence is notably better than Holl’s but his defence still needs some work before he’s the guy expected to shutdown the opposition’s primary forwards.

Timmins a bit of a gem eh? not norris winnig gem, but a good dman.

I had high hopes for this kid when they traded for him. A few here tried to say he wasn't much, but some of us who have followed his career, knew he was high potential.

He is probably safely projects to a second pairing dman, with a chance at first pairing, long term.

The only way Willie gets moved is if they completely crap out in the playoffs this year. There’s no way they move him this summer or at the deadline next year if they make any progress in the playoffs and then try to sell Matthews on how cool it is to get picks and prospects.

Rielly only going to get worse now that they’re engaged…
