Agree - if you are looking for futility though Buffalo Sabres have had 10 straight top ten picks including two #1's and two #2's. Their best player right now was the #26 pick of the Blues.

I believe the puck got up on edge when Sandin shifted it from right to left which in my opinion is what caused him to not get the puck past Binnington (or over his pad). I just can't buy into the theory that Sandin sucks & shouldn't have been selected to take a shootout attempt, the puck rolled on him - happens to players all the time.

For example Nylander's attempt on the shootout last night that nobody seems to be up in arms about. Similar in that he had Binnington looking beat but 'lost the handle'.

Anyhow it is what it is, Sammy didn't stop enough in the shootout and Binnigton did, Leafs got a point and move on to play tomorrow.

The only way Willie gets moved is if they completely crap out in the playoffs this year. There’s no way they move him this summer or at the deadline next year if they make any progress in the playoffs and then try to sell Matthews on how cool it is to get picks and prospects.
