Why on earth would a team that is in the hunt to select Bedard or Fantilli jepordize that to pick up an expensive reclamation project? Ducks are getting a high pick, if Verbeek does anything, he should be trading vets for picks asap.

Well from my standpoint just to make us semi competitive….

As a Leafer fan you haven’t seen a year like this … and yes I’m aware Leafers have had some lean years… but at least you we’re competitive…

Also can the hype machine on Bedard slow roll just a bit.. My goodness… He’s not AM or Mac & certainly not McJesus…

He’s probably not even Marner -

He’s an undersized F with a great shot… the league is full of those guys.. he’s going to a train wreck team … not mine, but whatever.. that has a D corps that will probably get him killed.

- dozerD10

He's projected to be a Patty Kane....not too shabby.

Not exactly, Leafs tanked just enough to snag Auston and came within a pubic hair of getting McDavid ((frank)en ping-pong ball!) - but got Marner as a consolation prize. A top two pick this year will be excellent if realized.

i think he lands somewhere between Mackinnon/Matthews and Mcdavid.

the WJC always oversell a couple players, but i dont think this is a case of that

You have to start with McDavid. If you’re building your own team, probably go with the two Cs (him and Matthews) plus a D (Ekblad) even though the Swiss is getting pretty damn good.

So where does Bedard end up ranking here? I heard some radio type say the scouts peg him in as a Patrick Kane upside.

- Canada Cup

You don’t think he’d rank higher than Kane? I do. I think Bedard has a better brain.

From what I've seen, he's going to be really good. Pretty sure any team that secures the #1 pick this season could get a boatload in return for that pick from many teams.

I went back and looked at the hype on Laf and Hughes and both had a ton .. Only Hughes has really blossomed.

but the hype was insane on Laf... transformational player.. quote from Canadian scouting.

Bedard is really really good... I happen to think undersized wings get a real dose of NHL D men and reality sets in.

For everyone who was asking why Sandin got tapped in the shootout last night, yes perhaps JT first but the Sandman has some hands.....

It was funny how people didn't stop to think maybe there was a reason for that choice.

Except Sandin wasn't able to lift the puck 8" off the ice into the gaping empty net last night. Doing it in practice ........

edm with 3 #1 in a row is still amazing.

whats the 3 best players you would take if you had a choice of 3 in a row?

its either Mac/Ekblad/Mcdavid or Ekbl/Mcdavid/Mathews id think
Although Kane/Stamkos/Tavares is fun

Matthews, Hischier and Dahlin.

if he got the puck off the ice by a foot, it would gone in.

Seattle will be a tough W to get tomorrow night
