I’m guessing our friend Drexel here also thought Dubas should have signed Campbell.
- Atomic Wedgie

I thought he should when Campbell was good, but then I changed my mind when he wasn't. It was really convenient.

Players coming off ELC cannot have a no trade clause. So you're welcome to keep your troll attempts to yourself.
- Aaron_85

He doesn’t have it yet but the NMC kicks in July 1st 2023 (first year he’s able to have one).

If the leafs don’t have him resigned or moved by then media will make it ridiculously dramatic.

I think he may sign a 1 year prove it deal or possibly walks. I wouldn't be opposed to letting him walk.
- Aaron_85

Hard to see the Leafs re-signing him. There will be LW options for less money that management feels could score 50 - 60 points on a line with Matthews and Nylander/ Marner. Hard to blame them. To be fair, it really didn't work out well for Kerfoot given similar opportunities. Bunting has drawn more penalties than any other Leaf, top +/- player on the team.

Peaceful?

Better?

More intelligent?

Or was this a rhetorical question?

I am not saying he hasn't been good. I just think they have an amount which is probably 3 million or less to fit in that spot.

Which makes sense. Crosbys linemates were never paid huge dollars because they lined with him. Well historically. Might be one or two that have.

I mean banning. Not doing whatever non-banning things it might get up to which would be your own private business.

IIRC, it was scrapped, not sunk.

If we are turning this into an abandoned ship thread, I want to talk about the one off the QEW at Jordan.

Meh, I haven’t been banning as of late, might delete a post if it crossed the line but that’s about it

Don't worry. I have no issues handing out lengthy bans. They tend to work better.

I would respectfully disagree with that amount. Of 18 NHL players that scored between 58 and 62 points last season, 15 made more than $4M (most much more) of the three that made less than $4M - two were on expiring contracts. He remains an asset at $4M a season IMO. Bunting scored 63 points last year and is on pace for 60. You mentioned Crosby's linemates, Rust made $3.5 last season and was one of the expiring contracts - he makes $5.125M X 6 now with a NMC for 3 years. He scored 58 points last season.

Took my doggo for a swim in Lake Ontario yesterday (don’t worry, she’s a Lab - she loves it).

There was a giant pike that was frozen on the shoreline - over two feet long.

Apparently the fish are coming back.

Canada needs to put this out of reach in the 2nd, because I have a football game to watch.

I saw a bunch of two footer salmon in the Etobicoke creek this fall, and a two foot carp and another fish I couldn't identify on the beach at Marie Curtis park. Tons of fish in GTA water

I should clarify. I think he's only worth 3 million as a leaf. On the open market he could demand more and may be worth it. Similar to Hyman.

Safe bet that since he starts next season at the age of 28 he’ll be taking the best contract offered to him since he’s never had one and this will be his one and only chance to get a good one because he’ll be in his 30s by the time the one following it shows up.
