A few episodes ago, Craig Rivet on the After the Whistle podcast said that he thinks Power is the Norris winner in 3 to 4 years. Compared him to Hedman. - SabreWest
This. He is everything that you could hope a 20 year old defenseman coming into the league would be. We really couldn't have hoped for more from him so far. Beniers looks to be a nice player - I wouldn't think twice about taking Power again, if for no other reason than generational defensemen are sooooooo hard to come by.

If Tage hadn't gone full super soldier, how would the Power pick be looked at?
It sure helps, a ton, what Tage has turned into.
Hell, they still took 3 Centers in the first round last draft. - kingcong39
Probably not as bad as I assume you are postulating here.
Interesting.
W/o Tage going all Tage, Skinner and Tuch likely have significantly less production resulting in finishing lower by 3 maybe even 4 spots. That results in a draft selection in the 5 - 6 range.
Jiricek, Kasper, Korchinski...work a trade for Wright, Cooley or Gauthier.?

Is he washed or are those numbers reflective of the putrid tank team that he's on?
Some interesting stats about the Hawks (and others - the Sabres stuff is really good) from Dom Luszczyszyn. Spoiler, they're one of the worst teams ever assembled with Jack Johnson leading the tankathon.

So maybe Kane has lost his love for the game? Regardless I hope we don't do something stupid and sign him to a 4 year deal this summer. - The_Inkwell
I'm sure there are several factors but he's been trending this way for a few years now. Last year's offensive numbers were bolstered significantly by the PP points (31 out of his 92 points).
It'll be really interesting to see what he fetches at the deadline and if anyone gives him a big contract. My guess is someone gives him 3/$21
I wouldn't want any part of that |

Yeah? It's definitely possible but I think the nearly flat cap will hurt his chances of getting more
Plus he already has more money than god |

I think he gets a 2 year 8-9 mil deal
And I’m not ruling out Pegula being the one that gives it to him unfortunately |

Don’t underestimate the stupidity of that an NHL GM.
Let’s hope our analytics department is smart enough and only sign him if he wants to come here on a team friendly deal |

I'll admit I was team Beniers. Now, Power is probably my favorite Sabre. If Tage doesn't become Tage, just think of where they'd be...
They drafted 8 forwards this year and 9 the previous year. You have to find a little balance. What are they going to do with all these F's??? - Lunaion
12 forwards
6 defenseman
So they should draft at the minimum, twice as many forwards to fill the roster needs.
Also, 1/2 of our defense is as good as any defense in the league. You have a really solid top 3, that will play big minutes. You aren't looking for that top guy at d IMO |

Yeah, definitely guys would be a little skeptical about a hot start.
And NJ doesn't have the all time playoff non streak
And arnt 2 games over fake .500

NJ really isn't any different than us. Drought or not, they've been mediocre for a long time also. They are probably a year ahead of us. But my point stands - would you sign with them? Absolutely. If I were a youngish player I'd want to go to an up-and-coming team and not with the same-old franchises that have been successful for a while and now are in their down slope (Pitt, Wash, etc).

I understand what your saying, I'm heading to vegas or Colorado. Tampa maybe.
No way I get stuck on a team like buffalo or NJ 😉 |

Two gallons of gas for the snowblower and a bottle of brown. I'm golden.
Gonna crank the heat way high in the morning in case the power goes out. If it does, we'll huddle in the den around the fireplace and drape sheets across the opening to keep in heat. |

Bought a Predator 2000, hopefully won't need it. But just in case. |

Very jealous.
I had a chinese knockoff Walmart special that took a poop last year. I wish Santa would bring me a whole-house generator or at least a quality Honda |

Just an addition to this:
Remember your ABC's - Always Be Charging. Charge up any and all devices that might be useful in a power outage. |

Great advice. At least you won't need your fridge. If you got a generator, hopefully you got it running and loaded it to make sure it works. |

Yeah was looking into a House Generator. Pretty expensive. Predator is enough to keep the Electric Fireplaces going and a few other things |

The Sabres need to start trading some of their prospects for a proven NHL defenseman who will be under contract for at least 2 years. I'd trade M Savoie in a second for a player who can really help our defense now. - pwasil7
Which prospect and why ?
I doubt they would feel comfortable moving anyone taken in last 2 years |

If you bring in pk88, do you retire okposo and make pat the captain for a couple years?
2 for 17 million IMO
