I was BPA, and thought Power was the best player hands down. That said, if they had gone Matty Beniers I think we'd have all been very happy with TNT, Cozens, and him down the middle for the next 8 years. - SDSabre
Got Powers and Savoie. I'm very excited about the way it turned out.
Brilliant in fact. |

Interesting.
If the price is right I’m open to trading Levi. - ImThatGuy
I worked a trade with a Montreal fan, carey price and a 2nd for levi and a 8th rounder .
At least I'm doing something 😐 |

I'm in the same boat for sure. Can't deny that Beniers isn't a fun player in his own right and would likely be just as much a fan favorite as Power. Crazy to think they were both on the same college team (along with other sure fire NHL players, a couple that will be studs) |

Would think Pilut is 1st to go, but probably shouldn't assume anything here. - Lunaion
You're right KA and don are making all the wrong moves.
They just cant seem to do anything right.

Exactly.
We must look at Prospects as Assets...to be used to improve the team through eventually playing, or moved to acquire a player at a position of need.
I find it very exciting that the Sabres' holes in their roster, outside of G are Bottom 6 and Bottom 3.
So much easier to find upgrades rather than say at 1 and 2 C's - IonSabres

I think you can quite easily make the case that Power is a top 25 D man already
I don’t think you can make that case for Beniers yet. Or really close to it.
I think the Sabres made the clear cut best decision.
Power is going to be a a top 5 D |

Have an opinion on what they should do, or just wake up on the wrong side of the bed?

Not sure if 30-35 games erases the past 12 years.
Maybe someone notices that we play against all back up goalies? - Boss34
So by that logic, teams wouldn't want to play for the Devil's either? This way of thinking just feels so.... Buffalo. |

Atleast when poster tries to be funny and tries to rip on something another poster did for fun. Atleast they could make it realistic, instead of making themselves look more like a dumba$$ |

I like Power, but that is quite a stretch.
Beniers is playing top 6 minutes on an expansion franchise and putting up Cozens type numbers while being 2 years younger... We all view Cozens as a at least mid 2C right? I mean I do. So Beniers is slightly below him while playing with a 32 year old Jordan Eberle and a 30 year old Jaden Schwartz... I mean, really? |

I really don’t think it is
He’s playing top end minutes against top competition and his on ice offensive impacts are legitimately elite right now.
I don’t think I could name 25 d I’d take right now for any series over him. |

I agree Beniers is going to be great, but this is more of a pro Power post.
His on ice impacts for being a 19 year old D man are more impressive than Dahlin’s we’re |

Dahlin is fantastic and maybe the Norris front runner this year and I’m
Not 100% sure Power won’t be the better overall player in 2 years |

My point was if we had taken Beniers, I think we all would have been very happy with how Beniers. Power will get to where you are saying pretty easily I think. I also think Beniers has a very good chance of getting to that level. He's very good. |

At some point, you have to break out of the evaluation cycle or you'll be forced to. We're right at the brink of being forced to. Just wish they were more proactive on things. - Lunaion

The Sabres need to start trading some of their prospects for a proven NHL defenseman who will be under contract for at least 2 years. I'd trade M Savoie in a second for a player who can really help our defense now. - pwasil7
Really?
For 2 years of play?
IMO they don't need to move that type of asset for a suitable Dman, even a 2RhD.
I'd be pissed if they did that. |

I think you’re right that people would still be happy…but I think the numbers people would be talking about the Sabres making a potentially big mistake |

we are currently female doging about how our D isnt good enough WITH Power.. imagine if we didn't have him.
granted we female dog about center depth so it would just be switching the female doging...
that being said i think D was the better way to go with that pick based upon our depth chart |

Good idea!! - Buff36
I wish the league would allow a player to be sent down, not through waivers, for a conditioning stint. They would have to limit it to like 5 games max or something. But if they do that and he gets claimed buffalo is further screwed at goal |
