70% off Eastbay with code thanks70

Anyone need sports apparel, sneakers, running shoes?

Eastbay is closing sometime next year as Foot Locker sold it to a separate company for team sports.

Just bought 4 pairs of kicks for $144 ($307.99 off)

turn ad blocker off or it won't go thru... at least for me that's what kept happening.

Are you trading a cost controlled played in Jokiharju for a pending UFA in Dumba?

He'll be 29 this summer. Are you extending him?

Is trading for Dumba contingent on him signing an extension?

- kingcong39

Let's forget about the theater around a potential trade for a moment.
The question I have that aren't answered yet are:
- Is Dumba a good trade target hockey wise? Does he fit, is he responsible defensively
- what would it cost asset wise in trade return to The Wild.

You can assume in answering that he agrees to signing a contract extention.

A lot going on. Cap crunch leading to playing short a man several games this year when someone (another one) goes down injured. Cap crunch leads to E Staal being on the roster, the injuries (and Maurice’s boner for E Staal) leads him to play more than he should be. Barkov has been fighting illness (pneumonia) and now a knee injury, and outside the rink is involved in babymama drama, custody/visitation arrangements. Barkov isn’t himself so far this year. Ekblad isn’t really there, I wonder if he was all bent because of who they traded last summer, and then he got hurt and not really up to par since returning, yet. Goalies are hit or miss from night to night. They make every other teams’ goalies look like a Hasek, their scoring touch is missing this year, so far.

Behind the bench is Maurice talking about advanced stats and metrics

Is Maurice doing the right things from a Coaching standpoint? Sounds like injuries and Barkov's focus are major issues.

Sure doesn't look like it so far this season, and that's before his massive extension kicks in after he turns 30.

That overly simplistic, and not really accurate. Although, I do wonder what kind of an effect it had in the locker room. Ekblad seemed a little pissed about the whole thing as he said all the right things during an early season interview.
The bigger issue is new coach/play style. I get the defensively responsible yada yada, but they don’t attack like they did last year. Even with the uptempo attack mode, Q still emphasized “playing the right way without the puck” (Hubie even found the end of the bench a few times during games). Brunette maybe let that accountability slip a little as the season went on. Momo has preached defensively responsible play (“yada”playoff hockey”yada), but seems to have neutered the offense along the way. Yes, they generate all kinds of chances, and just can’t score...but it is just different this year, last year they swarmed and overwhelmed, this year they’re just kinda blah. Maybe they start finishing more chances and everyone starts to feel better.
I miss the way the Panthers played under Q, and I’m starting to believe that the players do, too.
I loved Hubie on the Panthers, but I’m good with not signing him for 10 million for the next 8 yrs (til he’s 38). Playmaking isn’t their problem, they can’t finish all the chances they generate.

See that’s the thing about a playmaker, they need a goal scorer to be relevant .

I think some adjustment time to get chemistry with his new teammates is allowed considering he’s played with a certain center a lot of the last half decade

Ya’ll acting like it’s still the 80’s.

A guy playing into his late 30’s isn’t the detriment it once was. Especially a playmaker who doesn’t play a gritty style.

His problem is Calgary, not his age.

Regardless, that team had finally built up a core through drafting and made some brilliant trades and low-key free agent signings only to gut that core 2 years later.

I don’t think it’s lack of offense. They are 5th in the conference in goals scored but second to last in goals against.

Their defense and goaltending are a let down more than the lack of burying chances, and if the coach is preaching defense-first hockey the players are failing miserably at it.

Stay safe buzzerds, I watched your local news weather guy, his message to prepare made me think of the old blizzard of 77 board game....go get your food, gas, and meds before someone picks the Blizzard card and the board gets flipped over

I was without for about 5 hours earlier today. Have had a good run of about 3 hours now but expecting it to go out again. Haven't seen a storm like this in decades. The lake effect is just kicking in. 1-3 feet of snow with 70 mph winds. This is nuts.

It’s more the salary cap than his age. (10 mill BoB)
Huberdeau for Matthew Tkachuk isn’t really gutting the core.
Their offense looks great on paper....I gave my thoughts on the offense in my other post.
The goalies indeed have been a let down at times. But lately Bob has (and Knight in Edmonton) played really well and the offense goes cold on him.
I hate the injury abs illness excuse, but they’ve had 3 call ups in the line up a few games this year.

Would be my target. Package Olo (50%) and a 2nd.

Would you take Dumba for a reasonable package (not sure what it would cost, maybe Joker ' Olo + ?)

- IonSabres

Not a fan of dumba. Don’t break up the band on offense. Try to find someone cheaper.

Maurice is a fraud. I can't believe they fired the guy who had 51 wins in 75 games and hired him. Talk about overcorrection.
