What on God's green earth is going on down there. I get the push to be a more responsible, better 2 way team but man they are running the risk of falling out of the race...closer to 8th in Atlantic than 3rd.

A lot going on. Cap crunch leading to playing short a man several games this year when someone (another one) goes down injured. Cap crunch leads to E Staal being on the roster, the injuries (and Maurice’s boner for E Staal) leads him to play more than he should be. Barkov has been fighting illness (pneumonia) and now a knee injury, and outside the rink is involved in babymama drama, custody/visitation arrangements. Barkov isn’t himself so far this year. Ekblad isn’t really there, I wonder if he was all bent because of who they traded last summer, and then he got hurt and not really up to par since returning, yet. Goalies are hit or miss from night to night. They make every other teams’ goalies look like a Hasek, their scoring touch is missing this year, so far.
