I’m all for blowing this team up at this point. Just not enough talent for regular season to get us in the playoffs.

It's a real challenge right now. An even bigger challenge will be being able to move some of the players out.

Lose this game tonight with Sorokin in net and play the cats tomorrow night with the red headed guy in net? Not trending in the right direction with all the losses and injuries of late.

Losing Zeeker on top of the injuries we came in with is just too damn much for this team.

I think you will see sOrOkin in net tomorrow with a few days off.

Isles now have a 1 in 200 chance of landing Bedard.

The goal that got them the lead and the empty netter were both pathetic. I love Barzal but you CANNOT let that happen and then leaving Kakko alone like that. Then, him not making that effort to keep the puck in the zone and three (frank)ing guys allowing the guy to even get a shot off for the empty netter. I won’t even get into Salo’s play on the earlier goals.

I’m (frank)ing mad after seeing that poop.

If they can get a win tomorrow, looking at this trip and competition during this run of games you take the 10 points and move on. The injuries are taking their toll. A few days rest will be good for this team right now.

Sorokin will get the Isles enough points to miss on Bedard. Really do not even want to think of missing the playoffs again. Malkin and Ledecky sure do not want to miss two years in a row with a new building. Going to be interesting to see how things play out.

I’m frustrated just as many other fans are. I’ve said it before this team isn’t really built for the tighter officiated games of the regular season. But if we can somehow make the playoffs they be a tough out and will likely do some damage. Just need to get in.

It's tough right now with the lack of talent to try to overcome some of the issues. Islanders have to try to open up the offense and take more chances and it puts pressure on the d and goalie. It makes it a real challenge if you have to work very hard just to make the playoffs during a full regular season and then you have the battle that is the playoffs. We just cannot count on those two long playoff runs at this point. That is ancient history and this is not the same team. Many teams have improved their rosters and the Islanders have not.

Cop out for your boy Barzal.

All in all decent game. The penalties killed us as Butch said.

- nyisles7

Nah it was bang bang he turned and it was already gone, what was Dobson doing?

That would be the best thing that could happen for this team. They need change. The number of unforced turnovers were unreal last night. Barzal had a goal and an assist. Great. With that said he was an unmitigated disaster out there most of the night with some incredible tape to tape passes to the opposition on just about every shift. The usual suspects were just as bad if not worse. Impossible to build any momentum when you’re constantly turning over the puck.

Beauvillier the defensive, forechecking, juggernaut, had multiple egregious turnovers at the opposing blue line. Bailey is just Bailey. He needs to go along with Barzal’s bestie. Penalties were of the lazy variety. Again, another winnable game that they went out of their way to lose. I’m all for a reboot at this point especially with the mounting injuries and a chance at a franchise changing player. Couple that with teams in our division that seem a heck of a lot more interested in actually winning games and this season may be a wash by the end of next month.

Lou has hit the fork in the road especially with January being a heavy schedule month with 15 games.

Mayfield with that pointless penalty with five mins left in the third. His reaction to that call that is made 10 out of 10 times was priceless

poop, I'd take Fantilli too. Or Michkov. Or the Swede, whatever his name is. This is going to be one hell of a draft.

Top five all blue chips or does it extend to later in the first round?

I think the draft class as a whole is very good. Major high-end talent at the top but a deep draft also. 2015 and 2003ish

And without Pelech until ???, the season is definitely looking shaky at best. I think the team misses Clutterbuck as well, and now maybe Casey? And Varly too?

I can't help but root for the team, but losing does have its upside.

Outlook isn’t so great right now. This team tends to falter pretty easily even with a minor subtraction from its lineup. The amount of injuries we have right now with potentially adding cizikas to the list may be insurmountable. That’s not to say they were playing wonderful preinjuries because they weren’t. This was going on before Pelech went down. Who knows maybe this is the year the Islanders finally have something nice happen for them
