On a rare positive post on here, it was nice to see sOrOkin on top of his game again. |

It might be to late to change this up for LOU, but the question is he a players GM or a team GM? I always hear how he stays in good standing with players, but does that help build a team?
Same stuff different day, I agree but Hockey is infectious.

Islanders are in a tough spot in terms of cleaning house. The team may be in a rut but I just do not see another long playoff run with the current team. This is not the same team that made the two long playoff runs and the circumstances are very different now. - ses111
I think if they could actually make the playoffs while maintaining their health they could do some damage. |

I usually don’t get caught up with missed picks unless it’s a blatantly obvious reach off the board while simultaneously bypassing a clear blue chip. I honestly haven’t paid much attention to the last few drafts. Holmstrom seemed to be a bit of a reach when he was picked but whatever. NHL draft is a crap shoot for the most part. - Cptmjl

I think its time to Fire Lambert. He's not listening to the Girls Club at all. I mean Beau should be scratched but instead winds up with the most ice time out of any forward on the team last night? Lambert's a moron! |

Pretty much though with some drafts even that’s a crap shoot sometimes. Once you get to the middle to late first round it’s throwing darts at a board blind folded. Some picks that were applauded there amount to nothing while other picks panned in the late first round become superstars. Far from an exact science more so then other pro sports. Would be nice to have one of those late/surprise superstar picks for once |

Lee was a late pick. Maybe not a superstar but a first line player and captain for a 6th round pick is pretty good. |

Yeah don’t get me wrong we’ve made plenty of other round picks that turned out just fine. Pelech, Sorokin, Mayfield, etc. Other then maybe Sorokin (I think he will)none of them will reach superstar status. I was referring more to those mid to late first round picks. Dobson is a maybe I guess. Pulock was a fine middle of the round first pick. We just haven’t had a Erik Karrlson, or because he was just bought up, Tage Thompson kind of pick. |

Supposedly, Lee went as late as he did, because teams thought he was going to opt to play football or baseball...........other sports he excelled in. |

Grown tired of watching him. Whole lot of nothing going on out there most of the time veiled effort imo. He was caught flat footed multiple times last night at both blue lines. Completely exposed in the third along with most of the team. If not for Sorokin that could’ve easily been a 5-0 loss. |

Yep. With that said I don’t remember anyone saying how earlier he would’ve been picked otherwise. I mean how much earlier would a player picked in the 6th round been chosen for the reasons mentioned? |

If I recall he was projected to go in about the 3rd round, if it wasn't for the uncertainty surrounding whether he was going to play hockey or football in college |
