Watching the Canadian Juniors exhibition game against Switzerland, man Bedard is special. And anyone thinking the Hawks take Fantilli should the Hawks get first overall, not a chance! At this stage in their development and careers, there’s no comparison.
Dach looks ok as a bottom six guy, plays his position well, does his job defensively but not seeing any offense yet. Korchinski looks pretty good, good skater defensively sound against a poor team and it appears he’s he’s on the top powerplay unit. Del Mastro is good defensively, again against a poor team, he’s hits hard but he doesn’t look for contact and it appears he’s on the top penalty killing group. Allan isn’t very noticeable so far. |

I had friends say they think the blaring music at the uc needs to be lowered. That the level was high, that everybody conversations became elevated and that they had trouble with the general noisiness. - wiz1901

Helpful post...... Is Pasche in goal for the Swiss? He shares the goal with top goalie prospect, Hrabal, for USHL Omaha. Little fella is fun to watch. Cat quick. |

Where we are at, if Seth Jones gets traded great, if he doesn't great, it doesn't really matter for now. - BetweenTheDots
Yeah, with less 2 million Cap space, and the hawks having to eat half of Seth giant 9.5 million contract (4.75 ) another 2 mil cap space has to appear on the Seantor's side.
That can come by it by brokering in a 3rd team with more picks, but unless the Blackhawks are taking back salary (you think they will send a real player off their roster???) and drafts?
And besides, I can spend time with Jones in a Petri dish, but I think he still has a lot more than any body else in the system as far as all around NHL abilities.
and Ottawa calling, looking for a defender is not a handshake or what probably is a bit further down the priorities until after the 2 big boys make up their minds...

Yeah, and the kid Michov is no slouch either with high end skill the likes of no other Russian I have seen make the NHL jump.
Bedard doesn't just get iit, he is wise out there.
Has more shots than there is time to start compiling a descriptive list of.
You get enough hits with your draft picks and find to kids you play along with him and mesh. You can play beard anywhere up there, or move him around and make sure the roster has a big centre who you can slot in (and out) during teh course of the game(s). |

Yes Pasche was in goal for Switzerland. Hard to get a read on him with very little support in front of him. |

I think Michkov is right up there with Bedard but all things being equal I’d prefer the Hawks stay clear because of the problems or potential problems with Russia and KHL contracts and such. |

I see all these teams in a playoff position, which teams wouldn't want Toews or Kane, instant upgrade for all the teams. - BetweenTheDots
But most simply do not have the CAP room to make the deal with Hawks eating half.
and tell you what, in this era where drafting as a means to control your Cap, I am not sure there are a lot of GMs out there willing to give SO MUCH in picks to two teams to get the three high priced Hawks.
There will be plenty guys that fit that Ottawa defense, the Colorado 2nd line and besides Toronto, Carolina, Minnesota and Buffalo, and COLORADO who has the CAP room, Columbus? Detroit? |

Well, if the 'hawks draft 3rd or 2nd they probably will have actively vetted all of that top dozen of guys, because there is some high value in players there who haven't reached the high water mark, and already shoe high attributes and smarts and as in many years they develop past the guys picked 2nd, 3rd, etc.
It's a good year, regardless of winning the huge lotto door prize at one.

I think this was “leaked” by Ottawa to try and get the Yotes ask for Chychrun down

You're drafting for the Hawks and have the #2 pick. Do you eliminate any risk and take the beastly centerman Fantilli or roll the dice and take winger Michkov?
Hawks have the #3 pick. Do you take centerman Carlsson or winger Michkov?....... These two possibilities have a real chance of happening.

I enjoy the Sens and root for them. They play really fast and I love the Stutzle kid...... I seriously doubt they're in the market for Jones, but you never know.
Have you seen rookie Dman Sanderson play for OTT? Kid really really looks good and looks to be a difference making 10-12 yr top pairing guy.
My point is with Chabot and Sanderson in the fold do they wanna give up two 1st rounders and an A level prospect for Chychrun? Wouldn't it be better to look for a 2nd or 3rd pairing Dman at a much lower cost than giving up the farm for Chychrun?
Also, if they wanna keep Dcat it's gonna cost them and Chychrun will need a new contract after next yr. Not sure they can keep both. ......... By the way Dcat has looked good the last 4-5 games. Kid is piling up points and taking 4 shots per game. He's looking comfortable and dangerous and starting to fit in nicely.

I have never seen a three way trade with all minor pieces as the one that happened today among Detroit, Anaheim, and Florida. How does a trade like this even get put together? |

We'll see, although injuries do happen as well which may trigger a team to make a move |

Any thoughts on Lea Carlsson? - Mr Ricochet
I love his game! Leo is very creative and makes highlight plays almost in every game in SHL. He is playing in really good league, probably best in Europe atm and he is doing more than well there.
What is hard to tell is how much he has or anyone else (prospects) have room to grow? There are people who think he is best Swedish forward talent since Niklas Backstrom. Some compare him to Mats Sundin. But he is big, is playing wing in Örebro but could play center too. Very interesting to see him in U20´s.
I say he is probably my favourite prospect for next years draft but I know he isn´t the best one. |

This! Total bum, who contributed nothing to three Cup runs. I know when the Hawks were scouting him, Uncle Dale almost steered clear because of Kane's unwillingness to muck it up when the post-whistle shenanigans started. |

A third of the way into the season and our beloved Hawks are solidly dead last in the league. Let's all hope the lottery balls fall in their favor.
Aside from that , I'd like to wish the BOD a happy, healthy and safe holiday season. Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas and best wishes for whatever you may observe.

Not sure if you mean me? But if so, the red font on this board denotes sarcasm.
If you mean the post I'm responding to...the BOD (this place) has it's requisite share of meatbally, knuckle dragging fans too. |
