Kurashev reminds me more and more of Ken Yaremchuk. He ended up having a great career—in Europe - LAHawk
Agree. I said the same thing a week or so ago. He just does not have a scoring mentality. Sometimes it looks like he is figuring it out. But then.... no. I liked him on the 3rd line at the beginning of the year with Lafferty and Richard!nson. A hard working speed line that could get in on the forecheck and played a 200' game (well as much as any other Hawk line). Playing him in the top 6 is nuts.

I bet dollars to donuts even with the worst record, the Hawks do not get the first pick. - LAHawk
True. But a top 3 pick is pretty certain. Also will have a great chance next year and the year after to get the top pick.
I know this draft is loaded and some hate drafting Russians, but worst case you draft Matvei Michkov this season and do not see him for 2 or 3 years. 2024 we are still horrible. You would be pretty certain to have one of the top 3 picks. Same for 2025.

You willing to wait 3 years to maybe get Michkov? - LAHawk
Yes. by then he could come in as a huge piece to a team on the up. and he should be fully developed by then and could come in and dominate. |

He adds more value to the tank than any other Blackhawk, and that’s saying a lot. - Angotti
Maybe true. But there is a lot of competition for that title.

Even though i'm 100% behind the rebuild, it is almost impossible to watch night in and night out - vabeachbear
Watching a whole game is cruel and unusual punishment. I watch it for a while to hoping to see something positive. But beyond that .....no way.

I would not be surprised with any of these options:
1) They agree to be traded to certain teams.
2) They come up with some "injury" and need season ending surgery (and then sign with a new team over the summer).
3) They decide to stay a Hawk and re-sign to finish out there careers as Hawks. (highly unlikely)

Top 3 is fine with me if that's how the ball bounces. |

This is beyond bad. Going to hibernate until 2025, cannot watch this crap anymore. How far the mighty have fallen. Pathetic organization right now. See no positives to get me remotely excited. No words left to say, see u guys when I wake up in 25. |

I don´t see the problem here. Why would you want him to come here right away? I think it would be a good scenario like in Kaprizov´s case to make impact right away after spending few years in KHL. This team is going to suck at least next 2 or 3 years.

Seriously? Do you honestly think it is 2021 still? Or maybe Feb this year never happened. Picking anyone with a KHL contract is a gamble, not a risk. There are things that are not entirely in their control. |

Trust me I know what happened. It didn´t prevent drafting Russian players in the first round last summer. Michkov is probably best talent from Russia after Ovie and Malkin. It would be huge risk not draft him just because this situation. |

Caleb Jones. Woof - glennjpawlak22
Keep saying it that game I went to vs Pittsburgh I saw a coach punch the glass partition behind the bench after Jones f'd up. He was getting instructions all game long, and all game long made the same mistakes.
The guy is a turd. |

What did you expect? Did you NOT pay attention and realize that they are built to NOT win? Did you miss that part?

Karma, look at how many times Detroit was the last place team, or Arizona, neither have gotten the overall #1.
And the Hawks are not based in New York. |

Nothing anyone can do about it......You, me, Davidson, Richardson, Brisson....all down to the player. Full NMC and they can decide WHO they want to go, and WHEN...if it all.
One would think 2 highly skilled players, who haven't had a chance to win in awhile, might grow exhausted by constant losing and playing with turds......but who knows? Kane has family here....could be tough to leave.
If they do LEAVE...hammer the under every night because this team isn't scoring 2 goals a game.... |

Not a tin foil hat guy....but....as the ONLY original 6 franchise in the west, NHL needs Chicago to be good.....
They'll get a top pick...no idea what number....but they'll get one. Question is IF they get Bedard, what is the patience factor on this board when the kid is skating with cement shoes each night, assuming 19/88 are long gone. |

I thought of that too. Also thought the league would need Chicago to be good, so that the cap would go up with Hawks merchandising sales. Will be interesting if KD gets underwhelming offers for either that he does what he did with Kubalik and Strome, keep them and let them walk (or try to keep them for 3 more years). I don't think KD is just going to give them away. I also don't think the offers for either are going to be that good, especially if either are strictly rentals.
