I am fully aware of what kind of player he is. I like Demelo, just not for that kind of money. It's just a crazy stat he's only scored 2 goals since Mar 2019 when he plays 15-20 minutes a game.

His +/- is good when he's on a better team with a vezina caliber goalie???? WHAT???

I respect your opinion.

But c'mon bro. I'd take Demelo over any D-man on our team (other than Chabot, Zub and maybe Sanderson) he would be a great fit. Zaitsev is 4.5, Hamonic is 3.

3m is not even in the top 100 paid D-men

I can see he's a bit overpaid but how much?

Yup.
Lousy take on Demelo.
He's money for what he does.

He cycles, doesn't make dumb icing dumps, fights the corners, blocks shots, and gets decent assists. Metrics noticeably better when he is on ice, much like when he was in Ottawa. $3M might seem steep looking at goal metrics, but everything else checks out. He's like Tanev, except 1.5M cheaper, you can tether him to an offensive LD (which you could argue is all of Ottawa's LD) and not worry about leaking too many breakaways. Like Zub, except Zub will be more expensive. I'd take 3 Demelos on this team right now. The way he looked with Chabot, it was insanely myopic to let him go to the Peg for a third. He's tied to Morrissey on the top pair for a reason.

Timmy, Norris and Zub are all on the mend.

Really like this team.

Too soon to be looking at Gustavsson's numbers in Minni?

Had a pretty good start so far, albeit in limited numbers. Don't follow the team too closely so I don't now if hes getting weaker opponents.

I know now it’s only been a handful of games but since Zeitsev has been called up he has done a good job holding his own on the top line specially how many times Chabby misplays pucks 😬🫣
Question is if Zeitsev continues to play well and hold his own will Zub be Sanderson right hand man ??
Just wondering what everyone thinks
I’m the first guy to give crap to Zeitsev for his crappy play this season but I’m also the guy who will give props when deserved 🤙

So apparently Norris was skating with the team in practice wearing a no contact jersey but then half way through the practice decided to take it off. I sure hope the team's medical staff and trainers rein him in and impress upon him the need for caution and don't let him play until they think he's ready.

He's been tolerable, but IMO it's treading water. You're less inclined to pick plays apart when you're putting up Ws - it's not like his brief stint in the minors has him playing a noticeably different game. In fairness to Zaitsev, Matt Murray suddenly rediscovered how to play hockey, so it's not an impossible feat - if he's gonna play I just hope he can play his way to tradeability.

the NHL is proposing a new rule that OTT starts every game down 1-0 and a lottery for the opposing teams to see who gets the goal.

If Sens can stay competitive heading into the deadline, the Sens should go get a D-man that they can keep for longer term. We have Brannstrom, Thomson, and Bernard Docker to use as trade bait. I'm also open to trading Tyler Boucher. I never liked the pick when Cole Sillinger was sitting right there

I would not trade Docker 🫣 I like how this kid plays the game
I truly think we should hold off on that too 4
See what Zub and Docker can do when they are back 🤙

I like your take

I really liked JBD and had high hopes for him, but I also hate seeing Rasmus Sandin progress the way he has. Nils Lundkvist for the Rangers too. The Sens need to develop these young D-men, their 1st rounders for christ sake!!!

I say they wait and see where they are at on Feb 1. If they are close to a wild card, then maybe make a move for a TRUE right D. If not, wait til the off-season to sign a UFA. And sign Zub.

But I like how they are playing. And I like how the PP always seems dangerous now. Just sucks about yet another slow start

Yup. Todays game. Every chaotic fire alarm D zone calamity and Zaitsev was on the ice.

Power play and penalty kill getting it done.
They’re playing with confidence.

Agree with holding off on any trades, but not until the new ownership is in place. The odds on the Sens making the playoffs are slim to none so Pierre would be foolish to trade away our first round pick now. That pick is very important to the various bidders. I would assume the three man board that Dorion reports to have told him to do nothing right now.

I think that is right.

I don't care much about making playoffs but do want them to stay close to the competitive centre of the pack.

Clearly DeBrincat is an elite talent. Does he sign a long term deal with the Sens? Or, does he become a huge asset to be dealt at the trade deadline or next summer's draft?

True but most of them chaotic fire alarm was caused by Chabots mishaps with puck not Zeitsev lol

Well we know which team the refs have their money on. Slash my a_s.

What a waste of time passing the puck to DeBrincat to set him up with a triple A chance. He only scores if it's an empty net or a total fluke.

I want to see a lot more of those third and fourth lines. The whole team gets to rest because they never have to skate out of their own end.

The whole team is just playing really badly.
