Of course. We've been having these discussions for years, I'm not going to take it personally. And yes, I meant top pair. I blame writing at 2 after watching the game on DVR lol.

I'll leave the discussion on Marino to agree to disagree. I'm not going to just look at November, we've watched him for years and have somewhat different opinions on him. It's done so doesn't really matter right now.

And I will give Petry his flowers. I do like the physical edge and extra offensive weapon he's added to the top four. And fortunately even where I see him slowing down, both Pettersson and POJ make great partners for him. They need net front help and he can use a defensively responsible but mobile partner.

Petry for Marino to me was a gamble. If Letang can play as a #1, I'd rather have Petry as a #3, he's been good enough for that. If he slips, even though Marino isn't a #1, I'd rather have him and divide the minutes differently and insulate Letang more. Hopefully works in our favor for a year or 2.

Petry on LTIR

...and it was "since November 1st" ...its now middle of December, but I get what you're saying.

Since they have some cap space right now, wouldn't mind giving DOC a look. He's having a nice year as WBS top C.

Looks like you will get your wish....if they dress him. Might just chill up in the box with some nachos, yet. I didnt realize he was playing C and 22 points in 20 games is great!

What are we looking for in a 3C? I don't need names, I want potential. Are we looking for strictly offence or a two-way player?

To get one we will still need to trade either Dumoulin or Kapanen. Even then we are looking at spending between $3-4M.

You guys have a perfectly fine 3C already

What you need is a standard time machine.

Look at my post above. Horvat for 3C! not that I think its in the realm of possible but that would be absolutely bonkers if it happened hahah.

I give it about a 25% chance. Which isn't bad, it puts us in the running.

The only one for one offer the Pens can make is Zucker. Cap space is tight for both teams. Vancouver has three men on IR, I'm not going to pretend to know their situation.

In the article you posted, Kap, Joseph plus futures doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I would think Van. wants an NHL center in the mix. I guess it depends on how much they like Kapanen.

What if it was Bluey, Joseph, Kap and a 1st or 2nd?...the most unrealistic part of that is the 1st...dont see Hex trading any of them, ever haha...both POJ and Kap are O'le Jimmy's boys....

Would hate to lose POJ but it would clear room for Smith to come up....

I think they need a little more speed and offense out of the 3rd line. Carter just doesn't have the wheels.

Horvat won't happen, but damn, that would make this team a serious contender.

I would normally say that there's no way Hextall will part with picks, but he locked up 2 "win now" players for the next 4-6 years. No reason to sit on picks at this point.

We talk about this all the time....lol.

Don't follow WBS like I used to, if DOC is 1C where is Poulin playing? For some reason I thought he was the 1C there.

I could be wrong but I think we talked about Vancouver in the preseason and they wanted to upgrade their defense. If that's correct then Joseph is a good starting point. It's going to be a complicated, multiple player trade.

We can't forget with the team constructed as is, we can't take on any salary. It an extra week to bring Blueger off the LTIR because of our situation. Vancouver is also near the cap. Joseph and Blueger would almost certainly be part of what we send to Vancouver.

I can see Hextall trading Joseph and Kapanen, he has already tried to trade Joseph. No way on Earth he hasn't sent out feelers for Kap while he was in the dog house.

Adding more speed shouldn't be a problem. I don't know how much more offense we're going to get out of this third line.

I suggested a couple weeks ago to move Carter to the right wing and play Poehling at center. I still think that is the move.

Getting Horvat is going to take giving up two NHL players, minimum.
