You need someone like Monahan on your team anyway and the way he plays, he brings more to the table with the team than a potential first rounder.

At this point, I would trade Anderson before Monahan since he doesn't fit in St-Louis system.

Hughes should try to trade Anderson and a prospect for Boeser.

Monahan can't be crazy enough thinking he would get the same amount of money that he once got. I'm pretty sure he knows that this team is doing a lot better compared to what was planned and should* be a contender in the next 2-3 years. I would see the Habs giving him a 3-4 year contract around 4.5Mil max. I do think the habs will try to sign him before the deadline and only if he doesn't sign they will trade him. I think it's fair to say that if the habs can keep the center line full with Suzuki, Dach, Monahan and Dvorak. We should be in business.
