Really hard to tell who is hurting who more. I think it's VO hurting Mitts more, but I'm sure many take the other side. - Lunaion
watch Mittle-Shat tonight, he does nothing. If you are not scoring or helping the team offensively you sure as hell better be playing good defensively. Unfortunately mittle-Shat does neither good.
He NEVER EVER EVER finishes a check. I don't expect him to go out and smoke someone but a little body contact when on the fore-check is NEVER a bad thing. If you are constantly laying the body on the fore-check the Dman tend to start rushing their break out passes, those lead to turnovers, and those lead to scoring chances and those lead to goals.
Mittle-Shat should know this processes by now because he is on the ice for enough goals against.

Agreed. Should be an overhaul in the bottom of the roster. Hopefully find a partner for Power so Henri can play 3rd pair.
2 new D 2 new F at the least I would say. - DirtyDan
Funny thing is that a lot of the trades thrown around put 2 RD on the bottom pair. Don't think these guys have ever played LD.

Also creating a situation where they are playing someone they don't feel is ready more than they would normally have to. Other option is the always-injured Subban, who's played 4 games this year.
They opted for cheap placeholders + Bishop. - Lunaion
UPL was drafted in 2017. If he can’t hack it this year, he most likely never will |

The Sabres need to be within 2 points of the playoffs at the end of December to make that move for Demko. They're 6 points out right now. That 8 game losing streak killed them. Win 2 of those games and they're right in the thick of it.
This season is going to end up with a Norris Candidate, a potential Rocket Richard winner, and two other players playing at or near a ppg pace and they'll still miss the playoffs by 6-10 points - Stripes77
Imagine adding Bedard or Fantilli to this core due to blind luck |

I disagree. He's played 19 games at the NHL level hes still only 23. Has had a bit of an injury history.
Im willing to give him more time. He'll be back in the A once Comrie is healthy unless he takes off which no one is expecting

Nice Reed, Reid Read,
This statement right here is why the Sabres will not win shat.
" the most obvious reason is that Kevyn Adams has committed to the pair of Comrie and Anderson for the season and acquiring another goalie would mean that one of the two would either have to go the other way in a trade (incredibly unlikely), or the team would have to carry three goaltenders (not an optimal roster situation), or they would have to waive one of the two (not happening). The situation is just too messy for them to make a trade for a goalie.
Anderson is franking 41 and is literally living on borrowed time, Commie is a back up goal with seriously horrible numbers and UPL is well
If GMKA has the chance to trade for a True proven Average NHL STARTER he should do it in a heartbeat. He should/Can't care about that he committed to a Old washed up tender and a backup. I am sure the rest of his team would be thrilled if they got someone in the nets that could actually play goalie.
They have the best offense in the NHL and the 24th worst GA in the NHL, get another top 4 Dman and a franking goalie at all costs.. Even if Levi does sign he is not playing for at least 2 years and we can afford to have a high price goalie on this team for a few years.
Lets go - hehateme
This Pyotr Kochetkov fella for the Hurricanes is playing lights out for the right now. Wonder if they would want to move Freddy Andersen or Antti Raanta now that Freddy is returning from injury.
The problem still exists of what to do when Comrie comes back, of course |

Miller was 25 before he became a full timer. Also had triple the AHL starts as well. Just saying. |

Okay so no partner for Power keep Joki there.. Just Johnson would be a huge upgrade and no more Bryson

The numbers Raanta and Andersen have put up on a more structured, higher quality defensive team like Carolina make me wonder how much better they would be on the Sabres, with the style the Sabres play. |

I wouldn't pencil Johnson in anywhere except where his father works or Minnesota. |

Raanta has been solid everywhere he's been, can he stay healthy is a whole different question. |

If you want to go there, the hot start wasn't supported by the underlyings either.
They are 50.4% xGF, 16th overall. More or less says they are a .500 team. - Lunaion
They clearly outshoot their xGF though

Johnson plays on the right side in college a bit. It has to be intriguing to potentially have a #1 overall pick as your D partner and be on a young fun team that's leading the league in scoring. |

This, many goalies take 5 years or more to develop.
Let UPL play in the AHL or backup and see if he develops more. |

UPL has been a sub .900 Sv% goalie three years in a row even at the AHL.
Comparing him to Ullmark is like comparing Mittelstadt to Thompson
