Seattle is playing well, why would they move a top 6 D?
Obviously Asplund is being wasted here, but he is a guy they need in the lineup now and in the future. - Lunaion
Seattle has an imposing defense as currently constituted. |

Imagine if the Sabres had a line that was some mix of players like Wennberg, Bjorkstrand, Burakovsky, and McCann, instead of the current 3rd line that hurts the team nightly.
What a world of difference that would make. - kingcong39
The peddling of McCann will always be a mystery to me. And Bjorkstrand traded for a nothing burger is strange.

Seattle's expansion draft decisions seemed a little strange, but they've nailed it ever since.

Smart moves by a smart front office.
A front office that I think mystified many people with what they did in their expansion draft.
The Sabres would be a scary deep team at forward with a 3rd line comprised of players like I listed. |

I don’t think the Sabres want to spend assets on a short term stop gap, and I can realistically see why.
Only issue is, there is a bridge between Kulich, Rosen, Savoie not only arriving but playing at a high level as well.
Tough line to balance |

He isn't a short term stop gap he is signed for next year too. Veteran presence at the back end for a 2nd rounder and a prospect that wont play in the NHL. Schenn is a perfect fit for the sabres. |

Also won 2 cups with Tampa. Experience matters. |

The much maligned, and often made fun of Leafs goaltending additions this season, through 33% of the season.
So far, they made the right moves and are yet again a top regular season team.

the funny thing about the people railing hard on adams about the goalies is that he literally did trade for matt murray

Nice part is, they get to come up as a kid 3rd line. Having a 2nd line is no longer just wishful thinking.

People need to slow way down on Levi, Kulich, Rosen, Savoie etc
Especially Levi, rarely does a goalie come in at 20-22 years old and make an impact.
I thought it was the Sabres model to give a goalie like 100 AHL starts? |

Same thing was said about Quinn and Peterka playing meaningful minutes this year and so far so good.
The league is getting younger and younger every year.
What Kulich is doing as an 18 year old in the AHL as a DY + 1 is better than what Quinn and Peterka were doing at that point in their developments.
To think at the very least Kulich wouldn’t be ready for NHL minutes next year isn’t wishful thinking. He may be ready for NHL minutes today.

It's hard to tell if your being serious. 🤔
The future is going to be a wave of younger , bigger, faster guys who KA and company selected themselves.

Schenn leads the league in hits I believe.
Probably doesn't fit in here. 🙄
Good post, wouldnt cost too much, Vancouver ready for tank mode soon. |

Buffalo is allowed to re-sign/extend anyone they trade for as well. |
