A team giving up 57% more HDSC's is likely to get scored on more with Avg goaltending. That makes sense, right?
A team allowing more shots from closer in, generally will get scored on more with average goaltending, that makes sense, rignt?
Or do you still think that all shots have the same chance of scoring.

According to NST, the Median Team, in 5v5 HDSV% is .... wait for it...

.
.
The Buffalo Sabres at .8357 5v5 HDSV%

Those Sabres are lead by
Golden boy Craig Anderson with 694 NHL games, is at a glorious .852 5v5 HDSV%

Followed by
UPL at 20 NHL games, is a meager .849 5v5 HDSV% he blows
Then...
.
.
.
Comrie at .808 5v5 HDSV%

Sabres are getting "Median" Goaltending at 5v5 against HDSC's.
Since 5v5 play constitutes roughly 80% of the game (guessing at 12 min on PP & PK) it's very relevant I would think.

If this (frank)ing moron and his amateur staff lose Dahlin they'll lose my business for half a decade, and I'll pick a team to watch for 5 years that won't sicken me. We'll know soon enough. If Dahlin won't resign this offseason you can all but gurantee he's leaving.

Or he has a smart Agent telling him, why sign now...how about winning the Norris and also including 1 more year of UFA status in those max term Contracts to drive your earnings up.

Moneypuck.com have the Sabres at a 54% chance of making the playoffs as of this morning.

They were 67% before the Penguins game last night.

That was a costly loss, but the fancy stats still believe in Buffalo once 82 games are said and done

I am thrilled that Stevie Wonder got a job at moneypuck

It's always the freezing cold when a water heater goes. Open it up thinking I'm going to change out a thermopile or clean one up and I get a lot of crumbly brown rust on my burner.

The Sabres were the better team in both Lightning losses.

They outplayed Colorado at even strength in that loss.

They then coughed up a point they should have had Friday night against Pittsburgh.

That’s 5 or 6 points right there they should have had.

It all evens out after 82 games. This is a really good hockey team that needed an extra save or two when they needed it most

I'd really like to see them upgrade the D...Power's partner at 2RhD and 3LhD.
I am really hoping that Johnson signs, which would be an upgrade on the 3rd pair ... might 5ake a bit to adjust to the NHL, but I really like what he would bring.

I'd also like to see a better defensive structure that effectively reduces the number of shots, pushes a about 40% of their HDCA to Medium or Low Danger opportunities by clearing and covering players in the slot ... force more clean looks from further away.

The fact any one game can make you think a team's playoff chances went down 13% says a lot about your ability to be lead by the nose. I would think anyone who read your post, assuming those arent typos, would simply disregard moneypuck from any discussion of hockey. The fact they still think the Sabres have a 54% chance of the playoffs is almost as bad as weighing one game in December as having a 13% impact on a team's playoff odds.

There's a reason every casino in Vegas has a video board next to the roulette wheel. It tells the rubes... i mean smart gamblers... where they ball has landed as if it has any impact whatsoever on the next spin. But the rubes love it. Vegas don't lose money.

Yeah the house always wins, any collection of data and probabilities would tell you as such.

Analytics are a collection of data in which probabilities are based off of at the end of the day.

Remember when I posted that graph of the Quinn-Cozens-Peterka line a few weeks back saying the data suggested they are a good line?

Is there anything you’ve seen the last two weeks to suggest the contrary?

I’ll trust basic math over the opinions of those who choose to ignore math based probabilities at the expense of checking their ego’s at the door.

Rural. I need at least 5 acres.

Pretty much a gurantee we'll sell our primary and rental in Buffalo, then get a new primary in Mayville or somewhere akin to that and do a lot of RV travel for several years. After that stage is done, I definitely want a place in Florida or Arizona for the winter. If it were up to me alone I'd have left Buffalo years ago for the RV boon docking life. I could literally go from one BLM (Bureau of Land Management) campsite to another for years before I got bored. Not a chance in hell my wife is doing that with me.

Notice I didn't say much about the kid line graph? It made sense.

Nothing from the above post makes sense. Nothing at all. It has all the hallmarks of a shell game.

Remember the Jesse Puljujarvi expected nonsense from last year? He's a game or two away from leaving for Europe because he's so bad.

That's good livin. America is massive and beautiful. When you toss in Western Canada too, you could do the seasonal loop going as far North as Alaska in July/August and down ti Arizona by winter for decades and never stay at the same camp twice.

I stayed at a camp called Smithsonian Butte in Utah. Totally free and as beautiful as Zion national park.
