the association he advocated for used the promo code "poly", which obviously had people thinking about the killing at the polytechnique in QC, that happened on Dec. 6th 1989... it was a huge misunderstanding but it goes deeper than you think.

It’s much deeper than people think, especially the people that don’t possess a firearm..

I don't give a (frank) and I'm tired of hearing about it.

I would rather they spent the time/energy/money preventing illegal firearms coming in from the Akwasasne reserve and ending up in the streets of Montreal

Yeah, no way in hell Trudeau is doing that. Too scared to be labelled a racist.

He doesn't want to actually solve the problem, he just wants his voters to think he's trying to, in order to score political points and call his opponents murderers by proxy.

meh, I don't think that was the point around Carey's post having very bad timing, but whatever.

Makes a great duo with Valérie Plante who wants her police force labeled as systemic racists

I really hate when we conflate ourselves as the USA. Seems like 90% of the talk is always in contrast with them and we're just not them at all.

yeah, I don't see this as "they (frank)ed up", more like Carey (frank)ed up. and that's fine, he's allowed to deal with his own stuff on social media, I don't see the need for him to be in perfect symbiosis with the habs about everything.
- Pat1993

Still under contract with the team, so what he decides to post on social media will affect the brand, even if it's reasonable that it happens or not. If Price was an average Joe, he would have had a sit down with human resources over this for sure.

yeah I'm not sure what happened there, in the end it doesn't look good for anyone I guess... I just find it a bit silly since his hockey career is most likely over, yet he's still treated as a regular habs player because of that contract, as you mention.

I hear you, and I have nothing against hunter gun owners.

What I do have a problem with are gun nut associations like the CCFR, who will fill gullible ammosexual simple minded people that "THE GOVERNMENT IS OUT TO GET ALL YER GUNS".

The same nutjobs who think the government want to disarm people to take complete control of the population.

Of course it's 'meh' to a non gun owner and I'd feel the same.

If you back the whole thing up, Carey should have never had to make that post in the first place.

C21 was primarily supposed to be hand gun legislation, and when it came out all these long guns got thrown in it.

Guns people use for hunting.

Added to the fact if they fail to hand them in, they become criminals.

There's like 2500 guns listed, it's (frank)ed how 'they' tried to sneak them in..

I'm looking, but I figure out this isn't the best time either. To be honest my mind isn't fully there. I feel completely on neutral, not really sure what to do next.

Still waiting on severance pay from my ex employer.

Employment Insurance isn't much, but I got some money on the side so I'm good for a little while.

it's not about owning a gun or not Pete, it's about the bad timing concerning the mass killing that occurred at the Polytechnique... you may or may not care about that but people in Quebec most certainly do.

I still fail to understand why an assault weapon should be in the hands of regular people.
