I said at the end of last season, Kreider on the 3rd line makes this team better. Get him to play a more traditional “3rd line” role, being more physical like he was earlier in his career and we could see a major improvement in this team.

I’d keep the kids with Zib and put Chytil with Panarin. I don’t care about contracts when it comes to what lines guys are playing on; whatever makes the team better is what I’d do and I think this does.

Laf Zib Kakko
Panarin Chytil Kravtsov
Kreider Trochek Goodrow

Make that 3rd line a line that hits, forechecks, change the momentum of the game etc and can also score some goals.

Never thought an NHL player would mock another for a clean hit. Athanasiou had his head down while going near blue line... A BIG NO NO since hockey was invented. Instead of mocking Trouba for not scoring a goal yet and trying to justify his $8 mill salary, how bout ya just keep your head up!!!? Stevens, Pronger, etc..made a living at doing this, and making guys have alligator arms, knowing that they could get crushed if they werent more aware. Not to mention, if you go into a hit with less than a 100%, the "hitter" is at risk getting hurt. Perfect form...Shoulder into chest! These hits do so much more than stop an individual player, on an individual play.....it gets in the heads of opponents. AND.....Trouba has NO problem for dropping the gloves when another player has an issue w/ the hits. NHL needs more of this...not less.

Gauthier or trade for a 3rd line rw. Nothing matters though. We’re still (frank)ed

Nah. I've become quite good at ignoring/avoiding people like Beiber, Kardashians, Kanye, etc. in my life. They don't have any impact on me.

Ive been pushing this narrative longer than anyone and have been crapped on for it, even during last years run when he got 50 goals.

Now all of a sudden theres a bunch of ‘I’ and ‘we’?

GTFOH.

It wasn’t ever time to separate Zib and Kreider until now tho. It’s not like it needed to be done at all last season. He had 52 freakin goals lol. This year maybe GG could’ve done it sooner. But to say this has always been this no brainer decision is false. Let’s hope they stick with it. He jumbles line a lot and thus no chemistry can build.

Half his goals came on the PP.

My argument the entire time is the way he plays he doesnt need Mika and Mika doesnt necessarily benefit from him. Kreider isnt a playmaker, hes not setting up anyone. At his best hes only had 25 assists in a season. Kreider makes plays in the boards, but guess what Kakko does too, pretty well might I add. Its been the one part of Kakko's game that has always been there.

Something that is a big issue on this team contract wise are the NMCs handed out. They should be given to a player that is top 10 at their position at the time. It should in theory just be fox and Panarin with one

Unfortunately its an issue league wide and its really the only bargaining chip that teams have to draw in a player that may be undecided in where they want to go. Especially when youre in your mid/late 20s looking for security.

Man has he earned no goodwill with you at all yet? He’s only averaging 1.3 points per game in 200+ games here

Heres the thing, yes, hes been very productive early in his tenure here, and he still is. However, with all the points he has, can you even remotely point out a time this season where he took over?

Right now Panarin is kinda becoming the most skilled passenger in the NHL.

You say that but its more how bad theyve been defensively than offensively. They havent been responsible, theyve kinda dialed in the back checking.

Theyre middle of the league in total goals and even strength goals. Thats not so bad.

53 goals at even strength ties them at 13th in the league. A few more goals puts them top 10.
