I'm not hoping about anything. I still don't think a losing culture is good as we have seen around the league before. And I want our current youth on the team to do well. Hitting rock bottom could hurt them more than anything long term. So be carefull about what you wish for.

I'm just looking at the signs as of late and they are there.

There is a big difference between losing like last year and losing like this year.

Most games, you feel like they can win. In most games, when they fall behind by 2 goals, you feel they might / could make a come back and win.

There is compete and effort (from most players) in this team.

They don't seem to give up.

Losing is not an issue, it is how you are losing.

So you didnt know either

But I agree the season is not important, BUT they still have a few big decisions

Sign Monahan or not ?
Trade Savard ?
how much we are giving to Drouin on the next contract ?

- Xizord

Can't see them trading their only good vet on the blue line

what would be the point of that?

not this season anyway

losing vs Vancouver after leading 4-0 is a issue for me. They are giving a LOT of goals lately and they are starting to lose on the regular because of it

That was expected to happen.

My point is, they were never really out of the game.

Last year, they would have folded.

tell me you finished building your cellar. these Caymus will only get better if you wait for them, up to 10-20 years.
the trick is to buy 12 every year and forget about it

I don’t drink much wine these days but if I do it’s with a nice steak.
Prefer Cakebread or Tim Adam to the Caymus Cab sav.

things will not get better this year, this is not a very good team, they suck on D, rookies are learning but they are not great yet, our first line does well offensively but struggles in their zone, they lack quality depth up front. Most vets up front suck.

They are just no a good team yet, they need more talent and more time to develop them....hence why they need another great draft this year with an early pick (their own) and as many 1st round picks are possible (Florida + maybe one for Monahan).

scrapping underserved wins right now only hurts them long term. Rebuilding takes time to unload poorly performing assets, draft, develop then learn to win. They are not there yet.

Probably comes from always being the biggest kid on the ice, but when other catch up, can be a hard lesson to learn.

Hopefully, it is not a painful lesson....

My point is we are starting to see a strings of awfull games from them while they were playing good even when they lost for a good chunk this season. This is no longer true anymore.

they were expected to be a bottom 5 team, a hot start might have confused some people but this is who they are and expect much more of it until the end of the year.

I guess we are starting to see, what we expected to see from them at the start of the season.

I'm on the fence with Monahan. Could be a good vet to keep on the team and they remain thin down the middle as we speak.

And that first would most likely be a very late one....
