Meh not really. If its a trip sure (hard contact), but if its a graze, no. They all drop grabbing their shins and then once the ref walks away, ignores them or hands out a penalty they immediately jump up. - Fakepartofme
I hope you will allow a professional kickball man kick you in the leg at full speed to show what a studly man you are.

Neimela is important, close to being NHL ready and will be a cheap contract for the next 3-5 years when Lil/Sandin need expensive contracts. RHD.
Knies for obvious reasons.
I think ARZ will have to accept a tad less than what they want from any team.
2022 is a deep draft, I think GMs across the league value these picks a lot(They all wanted this draft last TDL)
If its possible I am not sure what they do..Robertson seems to be in play.
2023 1st, Robertson, 2024 1st? Its a lot. Idk - Santo_44
Apparently people "in the know" have been saying they want 2 1sts and 2 top prospects? I don't think there's anyway they get that, though.
I really don't want to trade Robertson because I think he can be really good, if actually given a chance. But getting Chychrun for 3 playoff runs is more than likely, well worth it.

So here's a weird question for the music lovers in the thread:
What are the best songs that actually mention the Maple Leafs?
I'm not a music guy, so I can only think of three off the top of my head:
- Raised on Robbery by Joni Mitchell
- The Hockey Song by Stompin' Tom Connors
- Free to Be by Alan Frew - Atomic Wedgie
Fifty Mission - Tragically hip
The Ballad of Wendel Clark Parts 1, 2 and 3 by the Rheostatics
Fourteen and Me - Stephen Stanley
The Borje Salming Massacre - Buck 65
They're gonna want a lot, and I'd have no problem trading picks for days. I agree that Knies is going nowhere and I'd also prefer to not trade Topi, too.
Arizona should want picks first and foremost, but I've no clue what they'll actually accept. - GreatGigInTheSky
With them being in a poopty arena for a few years, I would think they should want future picks too not just this year.
Actually just checked, they only have 7 this year lol. I thought they might have had more but they have 4 seconds in 2025!
I think Chychrun gets moved by this deadline/draft but I don't think he will be in a leaf uniform.

Diving is a huge issue in the game, it sometimes unbearable to watch. I even got angry about it seeing some of team Canada doing it - Fakepartofme
Serious.
Like, I'm shouting "get up". Canada has a legit opportunity and buddy is rolling around. If he just got up, there would be another option, but nope. Gotta get rolls in.

That's a pretty damn good set of D-men. - GreatGigInTheSky
Having Chychrun at 4.6m the year AM needs a new contract would be a feather in Dubas's cap whether he is here or not.
I had Robertson as someone they can't trade because of the cheap cap hit next season but with the emergence of Holmberg and the Leafs belief in some Marlies(SDA and Steeves) I think they have guys they believe in for the bottom 6 next season. I think they have Robertson as expendable.
the 2023 1st is very valuable, such a deep draft.
2 1sts and a prospect is as high as anyone goes imo.

Overblown in my opinion.
The guys been unlucky, doesn't help that he has played full seasons in those shortened seasons to make it look worse than it has been. - Santo_44

I hope it is
Picks, some prospects, and Holl to help them lose for Bedard (and also the Leafs need to dump contracts off the 50). A package around that should suffice.

Yeah I think its overblown, he is 24 and looks healthy now.
Time to look forward the guy is young, his career is just getting started.

Yawn.
There's a lot of diving. But of course there are times where someone is actually hurt or injured. No one is talking about those times.
They are talking about the numerous times someone goes down, rolling all over the place and the immediately gets back up once the game moves on from them. When you see the slight graze in the slow mo.
Good job.

Bolded- You're likely right and I dislike it.
Leafs are up to the contract limit though, aren't they? So they'd have to trade picks, prospect, and a body off the roster, no?

Its not overblown. Those are the facts. He's been often injured. - Fakepartofme
He has had injuries, doesn't mean thats what's going to happen in the future. The Leafs have much better medical, dieticians, therapists than ARZ. Something I just would not be worried about. He is 24 and is young, its overblown in my eyes.

Agreed.
I dont see him being a leaf either, but for the right price I wouldnt be against it.
Defensively, he may not be what they are looking for.
But we'll see.

Schenn is as slow as Sandin and/or Holl the one thing he has over them is that he's seasoned/experienced at positioning and tough as nails in the D zone. He has a decent first pass and can clear the net front for sure.
I agree with Santo on Hathaway. He would be great in the Leafs line up...in a few different spots.
Those two adds would change the whole vibe of the line up come playoff time.
Bunting, Matthews, Nylander
Jarnkrok, Tavares, Marner
ZAR, Kampf, Hathaway(match this with top lines and they would get wrecked)
Malgin, Holmberg, Kerfoot
Simmonds

They would have to trade a body.
If Knies does what management believes he can do and fits in the top 6...where does Robertson play? I think he has a good career but I also think its time he gets a long look next to good players but it just may not be here.

Santo, please stop your insane rant. Stamkos was injury prone and as we all know he never did anything after his final disastrous season in 2020/2021

Absolutely this.
Soccer players got massive legs with them muscles. Getting full on kicked by them would (frank)ing hurt, undeniably.
Their legs aren't quite the legs cyclists got, but they're still massive.
