I honestly don't know why people get angry about it. Like, it's not a soccer problem, it's the pussies that play it and the the cowards who refuse to call it.

Soccer is a good game brought down by the men who play it.

Women's soccer is such a better game, it's actually ridiculous.

- GreatGigInTheSky

They could clear up the game in 20 minutes by handing out red cards.

But don't blame the referees. They are just calling the game how their bosses want it called.

And for those who want to say that I'm some sorta anti-soccer bigot, you may be surprised to know that I have some pretty strong opinions on NHL reffing.

Constantly. Right.

Glad you're watching, anyway. Enjoy the game...if you can.

I gotta agree with you. As a guy that used to play, when running at full speed and an opposing player puts their leg out, you're going to go down to the ground. It's hard to maintain control of your body when running at top speed.

There is diving in soccer, I won't argue that but it's not all the time. When you're running with any pace and a leg or a foot comes in contact with you, you're going to fall

No, the VAST majority of the time, players are going down already. Feet fly out from underneath. Arms flailing in the air. Grab their shinpads and roll around, but get up perfectly fine once they see the refs tells them to get up. Or they see the play is still going and they might score.

Diving is an absolute constant i soccer.

I know there's diving in hockey, never said there wasn't. Tampa was putting on a soccer clinic on Saturday.

And the Leafs have the biggest diver in the league.

EDIT: Womens soccer >>>> mens soccer

They're gonna want a lot, and I'd have no problem trading picks for days. I agree that Knies is going nowhere and I'd also prefer to not trade Topi, too.

Arizona should want picks first and foremost, but I've no clue what they'll actually accept.

Not a huge fan of thrash, there were some decent punk bands, some over the top, went to the HeatWave concert mostly Punk New Wave bands, the Clash didn't show up, was still ok.

Here's a song from a Canadian who is still writing great music. Hope to see him one more time in concert. Will take my son for sure. The Pretenders and Talking Heads were at the top of their games and were both excellent.

So here's a weird question for the music lovers in the thread:

What are the best songs that actually mention the Maple Leafs?

I'm not a music guy, so I can only think of three off the top of my head:

- Raised on Robbery by Joni Mitchell
- The Hockey Song by Stompin' Tom Connors
- Free to Be by Alan Frew

Yup.

Yeah, I could've been more precise in my words, but I meant those in charge more-so than the on field refs.

And I agree. NHL officiating is shameless.

100% agree. I don't have a problem with that.

The problem is:

a) exploding on the way down
b) rolling around on the ground for 10 minutes afterwards, as if you have been shot.

Yes, because northern European hockey players are never accused of being divers.

Thank you for rooting out the systemic racism that I continue to perpetuate through my historic position of privilege here at Hockeybuzz.

No wonder you young people can't hold a job. In my day, $15/hr was a fortune!

Neimela is important, close to being NHL ready and will be a cheap contract for the next 3-5 years when Lil/Sandin need expensive contracts. RHD.

Knies for obvious reasons.

I think ARZ will have to accept a tad less than what they want from any team.

2022 is a deep draft, I think GMs across the league value these picks a lot(They all wanted this draft last TDL)

If its possible I am not sure what they do..Robertson seems to be in play.

2023 1st, Robertson, 2024 1st? Its a lot. Idk

Overblown in my opinion.

The guys been unlucky, doesn't help that he has played full seasons in those shortened seasons to make it look worse than it has been.

Also-

c) player initiates the contact himself and goes down intentionally

This happens the most.

Diving is a huge issue in the game, it sometimes unbearable to watch. I even got angry about it seeing some of team Canada doing it

You know what else is franking embarrassing?

Having to remind you people* that Luke Schenn can't skate, and he would never fit into Toronto's systems.

What systems are those?

Let's - just for fun have a look at the top teams in the NHL right now and see how many of them have a player or more that can deliver that big devestating douchey, game changing hit.

If you go down the top 10 or 12 teams in the NHL and make a fair assessment, you will find that the only team missing that element is the Leafs.

Meh not really. If its a trip sure (hard contact), but if its a graze, no. They all drop grabbing their shins and then once the ref walks away, ignores them or hands out a penalty they immediately jump up.
