If Tavares scores a goal in the first minute of the second period, and there's nobody in the platinum section to see it because they are all still in their luxury suites, did the goal horn really make a sound?

Jack Campbell watch:

He let in 5 goals on 30 shots last night (.833 SV%).

He's now 7-6-0, with an .872 SV% (72nd best in the league) and a 4.12 GAA (also 72nd best in the league).

I'm not kidding when I say this - I'm worried about the guy. There's no way he's going easy on himself.

When he was going good with the Maple Leafs I would have signed him. I was wrong.

You can’t go too far in America.

FFS, MTG harassed school shooting victims and said California wildfires were caused by “Jewish space lasers” - and she’s about to be appointed to several key committees.

Intelligence does not matter in America any more. Neither does competence or results.

Only fame matters.

And it doesn’t matter what you are famous for.

I've lived in the states since 01... the only thing you need to watch to understand the states the is movie (I believe from 2003-05) Idiocracy. It seemed farcical at the time ... it isn't.

Really should have stayed with the Leafs for less money.

You can't put a price on happiness.

Classic player becoming a UFA mistake if you ask me. Stay where you know it's working out.

Nah, take the $. Dubas offered him 3x$2.75M. The Oiler $ is too much to give up on what is likely his only decent contract. And it wasn’t really working out here otherwise he would have been offered more

Per the NHL, the #Leafs' 25 points (11-1-3) in November were the most they have ever earned in a single calendar month.

I'm assuming he'll be a UFA this summer after the Oilers buy out his contract, so maybe Dubas can re-sign him then?

Yeah I wonder who was in his ear telling him to get his money.

Its a common thing players will say to each other...Jack isn't like most players though. Probably regrets it.

“Matthews Knies gave me about 5 viewings of the best live viewings I’ve had of a college player. He could be that piece they always talk about with the 2nd line left wing to play with Tavares. He’s the ONLY piece (prospect wise) I would avoid moving at all costs” - Michael Futa

He did put a price on his happiness. 5+millie per year.
Good on jack for leaving and good on the leafs for letting him good.
Lots of time for jack to turn it around but im happy he has the results he has, just to shut up all the media that were saying the leafs made a big mistake blah blah blah.

Lol. In the opening episode of this season of White Lotus the hotel manager (expensive resort in Sicily) tells the guest he’s an idiot because they came through the local airport and had their luggage lost

How do you know? Have you had $17m?
Why do people assume jack is unhappy about his decision to sign a $25m with another team?
All i see is he seems unhappy with his current play ( which had he stayed with the leafs, he could be playing the same way) he doesn't seem unhappy outside of the rink with his $5m this season. Ive no reports suggesting that.

Exactly. I was checking to see what Dubas offered him and seeing all the articles about how badly he messed up. The other laugh is the number of analysts who picked the Oilers to win or get to the SC just because they got Jack.

That’s especially true on the right and I’d maybe replace hate for fame but yeah competence, intelligence and the competition of ideas are gone. It’s hate that gets you noticed and famous. I wouldn’t mind as much if the fame was the result of something positive or even neutral but now get ugly, get hateful and you get noticed and politically powerful.
- Canada Cup

also applies to the Squad. Fair bit of hate there too
