Canada also hosting and therefore qualified for next WC - Canada Cup
I've heard that FIFA may strip Canada of hosting the next World Cup, unless we make commitments to kill at least 20,000 foreign workers while building new infrastructure. |

Interesting how Friedman says Leafs likely prefer a D over a F, they want to pave a way for Knies and let it be known to him that he has that path.
Mentions a D with bite, like Avs did with Manson. - Santo_44
The d seems pretty crowded when Brodie and Rielly come back
but its pretty insane the Leafs havent really missed them. I dont see people complaining about the D being bad with all these fill ins.
anyways, whos the D with bite target?
id still get a scoring winger instead

Unless Muzzin says he doesn’t want to play, Dubas probably waits till after the end of Feb check in with specialist to decide on spending that $. Lots of time to decide. In the meantime, Friedman has podcasts to fill. |

most likely the forwards are more committed to help their D with their top D's out with injuries. |

Dubas has the good fortune that the Leafs haven't fallen apart without Muzzin, Rielly and Brodie. I suspect if they had faltered Dubas would have been forced to do something.
The upside is really that there will be more CAP available at the deadline... still think Dubas should make Muzzin change his name to Kucherov - which will send the correct message to the league.

Sucks to see Jarnkrok go down with an injury, but if that gets Robertson time on the second line it's a silver lining. |

He is going to check back with his specialist at the end of February. Hopefully that allows Dubas to make a decision about spending his cap $ by the the TDL in early March |

Friedman mentioned Gavrikov...Idk about him
In terms of play style fit I think Orlov is the best just not a fan of a rental. Maybe if he would do a 5.5MX4 years? He is probably looking for 6 |

He says what he hears.
It wasn't speculation, he said he knows Dubas wants to pave a path for Knies and isnt going to jeopardize it with an add. |

Since Dubas made a point of saying that they were going to check back in February, respecting Muzzin could mean waiting till they check. It also brings the benefit of increasing the number of potential players available as teams fall out of contention. He will also have a clearer idea of the team’s needs given the possibility of more injuries and further assessments of the their play.
Friedman is speculating based on some good logic and a lot of general inside information. Knowing that he wants to bring in Knies provides a good basis for his speculation but he’s still speculating. |
