I just don't understand the interest for Karlsson, unless you believe his current production isn't just a flash in the pan and he's back to his old himself all of a sudden. and I don't see why the habs would do this at this current stage in their rebuild. |

Well in the current proposal it's more of an exchange of problems than anything else.
Karlsson would immediately solve the powerplay QB search, and even if goes back to his injury riddled self of the last few years, he's still a productive player.
Gallagher on the other hand, whom I appreciate with all my heart, will most likely keep regressing in the next few years until he's nothing more than a big heart with no more legs to work with.
So the only real downside to this is the added cap space between the two players, which we'll most likely be able to afford with all the deadwood leaving in the offseason.
This being said, I'm not THAT interested in Karlsson either. He's injury prone and not worth his deal. I just think he'll be closer to being worth his contract than Gallagher will. |

Karine, any legs to the Erik Karlsson roomer that he wants to come back to Eastern Canada and a potential swap with Gallagher. Both have the same terms left, one is 11.5M and the other 6.5M, one is productive, the other is character and leadership but no production. Karlsson is 32 , Gallagher is 30, both contracts end in 2027. - Symba007
Who knows…anything can happen i guess but i dont see this management team committing that much money to an aging dman when they will need every penny to build a respectable attack |

that has nothing do to with is Karlsson a flash or not. or with the rebuild.
Habs do not have a QB. they need one. Habs have too many forwards. Gallagher, god knows I like him, is available especially if it's to get a QB. |

yeah, but you're taking on an 11.5M contract, with so much uncertainty concerning his health that comes with it. not a fan of this move at all whatsoever.
but hey, if Hughes pulls the trigger on it and Karlsson proves me wrong, I won't complain lol.

meh, an 11.5M QB with serious health issues, hard pass for me.
and no, if it's just a flash in the pan, it most definitely wouldn't be worth it. this needs to be considered lol |
