it goes back to training camp. coach gave all the chances in the world to Primeau to win the backup job, even gave him the last preseason game, when everyone knew he would go back to Laval, meanwhile Montembeault was sitting on the bench.
now, for the past month, Allen has been meh, and Montembeault excellent. still the coach says Allen is their #1 guy.
we're not in the room, not sure what they have againts him... but doesn't look like they want to give him a chance. a chance he deserve tbh. what do they have to lose??

it's just that Allen is not Carey Price. we don't owe him anything. he's a good backup? use him as a backup!!
Montembeault is still young for a goalie, give him a chance. said that a few weeks ago, who knows? maybe he'll surprise us and slowly become a legit starter. they have nothing to lose. if he does, good for him and good for the team. if he doesn't, they'll know they need to find a new one for the near future.

the only sure thing is that Allen is not the solution as a starter short term or long term. he's a good backup. that we know.
