But trading him for a cap dump at 4-5M that expires in 2024 or 2025 is better than this

Or just retaining 50% and getting back a decent draft pick

Boeser buyout makes little sense to me

- Nucker101

Agree buyout makes no sense but better than asking for anchors back. He’s not useless just poor value at 6.65m.

It is actually 2.217 x 4 as the cap hit. Your first two are savings not cap hits.

Why is Boeser more valuable than Mantha? Mantha expires sooner and both are offensive slow wingers who don't back check.

Boeser for Mantha straight up is a win.

- Nucker101

Only win is 1 less contract year Mantha is an outright bum. Buyout Boeser & can get a UFA for the difference or not at all is better than a 6’5” 5.7m plug.

Yeah I'd just keep him and let his deal expire unless someone offers a good enough trade to dump him.

Mantha expires after next year so that would be a no brainer move even if Mantha sucks.

But I'd still like to see the offers for Boeser if the Canucks are willing to retain $2M-$2.5M

Mantha is an outright cap dump.
We 1st trade & gain cap space.
Then 3rd party it & eat his contract for a sweetener like a 1st pick.

Buying out Boeser is better than taking back garbage.

Kakko yes but doubt NYR bites
Kravtsov a total bust
Greenway sucking worse than Boeser
Mantha 2/5.7m gag

in an article about Boeser the other day. A former front office exec stated the exact opposite of what you feel.

Most insiders and analysts seems to think the exact opposite of what you feel.

I think he's pretty similar to Brock if I'm looking at both players through the same coloured lens. Both hyped as young players and peaked early. Both look lazy/slow on the ice. Both can still put up points but not much else.

I think I'd rather have the guy who's on a shorter contract. If I was Washington, I'd want a sweetener.

Doesn’t matter how I feel. He’s still on a 60 point pace. Mantha or Kravtsov couldn’t get lucky in a whorehouse if paid for & no other customers there.

Just because you say really weird things doesn't make them right to anyone else or that your thought is more correct.

Mantha more injury prone than Boeser.
Never hit 50pts
Gone downhill the last 4 years.
Healthy scratch.

Take all that to lose 1 year where Boeser can only bounce back vs a reclamation project (being polite).

There is no pollution in Quebec.

Edit: You wouldn't have believed if I said Quebec has no climate so I tweaked it.

There's always a thick smog of Gitanes smoke above Quebec.

No but opinion has facts to back it up. Never know of course but there are zero signs Mantha isn’t anything more than 1 of the worst contracts in the league. I’d take my chances on Vrana instead.

As also in the article says that if Boeser doesn't improve, the chances are it turns into Patches and you are giving him away for future considerations just to create some cap space.

Not a chance. Lane Pederson didn't clear waivers.
