Oh and you pulled that outta thin air how? You’re the type that grabs a brush & paints everything cuz on face value it MUST apply to everything all the time?

Just ask me on the 2023 1oa instead.

- Nighthawk

I was joking about 1oa, but I can't remember a draft position we have had in the last several years where you didn't want to trade down from. Including the Pettersson pick.

Wait till you hear the child trafficking they are involved in you won’t be laughing, research USMCA agreement chapter 27 that trump forced JT to sign before the 2020 election. Trump is still the commander in chief, foreign interference in an election becomes a military operation, EBS coming soon tick tock!

There were quite a few people stoked on makar, jyst knew he wouldnt make it to us.
- neem55

Nope. Most were wait & see. Didn’t get stoked til close to the draft. Worst pick Patrick gifted Makar to the Av’s.

I 1st was serious when we took OJ. Said take Sergachev or trade down for McAvoy. That was after I started studying 30 days before the draft.

Licky I was willing to go down to 18th maybe 20th dependent on the sweetener.

Every other draft we had a 1st I wasn’t as keen. I still tossed ideas around but never settled on one.

I do & will have a trade down idea whether or not I really want it depends on how the draft plays out hence in my back pocket. I don’t sit at the draft table waiting for the phone to ring.

At the time, Rathbone was a player I wanted, and is 1 of the few in Canucks history, that I have gotten right, but it wasn't because I necessarily liked his style of play, I just thought it was worth a gamble, to try get a PP specialist, at that pick.

I know he is American and I wanted him.

So the intentional grounding call against Burrows was right? Cost them a down and yardage. I would highly debate that was a terrible call, which didn't even come right away, took a good 30 seconds after the play for a flag to be thrown. At that point I knew the game was being handed over to KC.

After the Burrows intentional grounding, I said to my father while watching the game, KC is going to get a call that's going to put them into field goal range to win it. A minute later, miracle there it is. Huge flop by Mahomes and into field goal range KC goes to win it.

Scripted.

- manvanfan

It absolutely was the right call as the ball never made it back to the line of scrimmage.

The roughing penalty on Ossai was the right call as well, even the Bengals players and staff know it.

Nothing to see there.

You were dead wrong in 2016, trading down was the wrong choice. Drafting Tkachuk at 5 was the right choice and Benning failed.

The only call I questioned was the KC was 3rd and 9, play went on and ended 4th and 4. Then they redid the play (which ended up working out for the Bengalls as Mahomes got sacked)

Draft is in 30 days? News to me.
Had Makar in preseason. Don’t recall you on board at all. Probably in the AJHL crowd he’s not good. Difference is your recall sucks lol

Reading comprehension once again bites your ass. My picks were at where the Canucks pick. No D or C were worth it. Pointless to go on about trade down trades due to your disinterest in any imagination. How do you ever expect to get more picks if you prescribe to the JB school of lack of creativity?

- Nighthawk

I am sure even Lefty, who we all know isn't the sharpest tool in the shop, understood what I wrote, you for some reason, can't figure it out.
As far as my reading cprehension goes, there have been 2 people, in my time on here, that I usually have to read their comment more than once, to actually try guess what you are saying. Both of them used run-on sentence and speak mostly in riddles.
Can you guess who those 2 people might be?

No. I had no problem taking Matt. I said at the time if D when OJ was picked then I said I take Sergachev instead or trade down for McAvoy. OJ caught me off guard. I don’t play hindsight history like some like to play.

Nah my cprehension is lacking.

That was a very long run on sentence btw.

I'd say the trade comparables laid it out pretty good for if the Canucks and Oilers were to make that trade.

Edmonton: Stillman

Canucks: JP and Edm 2nd.

My deal is,

Edmonton: Schenn 875k UFA, Joshua 825k UFA2024

Canucks: Pullymyharvey 3m RFA 2023, Foegele 2.75m UFA2024, Raphael Lavoie, Edm 1st

Gives the Oilers cap space that they need ASAP. After the ALL-Star break they have to become compliant as Yamamoto is coming back and they will have to make a move. They get Schenn on bargain UFA contract to shore up their 2nd/3rd pairing. As well some toughness in Joshua that they definitely need. Joshua had some decent playoff numbers with the Blues.
Canucks get JP on an expiring deal that they can resign way cheaper and try the ole reclamation project or let walk if it doesn't work. Foegele, that has been a big disappointment since going to Edm from Car, but is a big body, only 26, probably a Tocchet type player, and only has a year left anyways. Could be a flipper next deadline on a rebound year. A good 22 year old 6'4" 196# C 2nd rounder(38OA) that is developing nicely in Bakersfield, and their 1st pick that should fall in the 18 - 20 range.
Is the EDM 1st too much, 2nd instead? The Oilers only have so many kicks left at a true Cup run before Drai and McD are up. The cap space is pure gold for them.
I'm no cap genius, but I think this can be squeezed in under the Canucks limit?

- carsonagenic

First off Canucks aren't going to be able to take back 5.75M in salary for 1.7.

Second, you don't want 1 but 2 overpriced wingers to come back to further (frank) the Canucks cap space next season?

Third, Lavoie is probably equivalent to Bains in terms of quality. I can't say I've ever actually seen him listed or playing as a center. He was a winger in junior and in Sweden. Bakersfield has him listed as a center but AHL website has him listed as a right wing.

I would say value wise, Edmonton would have to add a 1st this year and a 2nd in another year to Lavoie, JP and Foegle for Schenn and Joshua.

How naive. Of all people you should know sports is just ‘panem et circenses’ (bread and circuses).
- bloatedmosquito

That's precisely why it placates the masses, it's the circus we watch. I was trying to be facetious.

I've said many times, we're to hooked on big screen TV, cheap low nutrition food and super bowl Sunday to revolt.
I like my bread and circus but recognize it for the evil that it is.

Keep reading and look at the video links. If you can't see the help there and lack of calls both ways for very similar plays.
