The slow descent into facism continues, the hand that holds the leash is as wrong as the jack boots it commands.

Frankly all drugs and everything should be legal as long as it doesn't infringe on another person's bodily autonomy. People kill themselves eating big macs and heart disease as often as with hard drugs.

I'm a weed guy but we shouldn't have full prisons of drug offenders while letting rapists out after several months.
Canada is broken but so is the world, time for it all to burn down.
Cops are the staples piercing the fabric of humanity and holding the tyranny together.

Hockey is a happy distraction that hypnotized our nation.

Brock can stay, Miller must go.

How naive. Of all people you should know sports is just ‘panem et circenses’ (bread and circuses).

Actually, I was basing my thoughts on Bystedt about the speculation of some movements, once the new management team came aboard, and then even moreso, when the talk heated up around Miller being moved out, and to a lesser extent Boeser.
What I had said was getting a late 1st in a deal would be fine, as there are some good players available late in the 1st and early into the 2nd.
I specifically named Nathan Gaucher and Filip Bystedt, and if I am not mistaken, you said it is not worth it, as those 2 players don't move the needle.

You can call it a reach anytime you want, I call it making sense, which seems to escape you.

- Reubenkincade

I had nothing against either. Pickering definitely didn’t move my needle. I call it a reach every time when it’s sooner. Trade down is always my strategy. Idc about opinion on that tbh. Different draft strategy philosophies.

Also he can explain why McGroarty or Snuggerud are shiny players. My guess is it’s bias against Americans as usual.
- Nighthawk

Awww, poor Nighty, I didn't like players that you get giddy about because you read some sweet info, 30 days leading up to the draft, about players in the only league you appear to follow along with.
Both those players you mentioned, are wingers, I tend to concentrate on defensemen and centres, which neither of them are.
Rutgers, by the way went before the Canucks picked, but was a player that I would have been Okay with, but wasn't a player that I specifically wanted.

By the way, how has the Canucks been making out with the boatload of Americans on the team right now?

The hindsight part of drafting for us is being able to look back and see what could have been. When you look back at what could have been just by the numbers. It's plain and simple.

Example Rathbone. Good High school numbers but Michael Anderson, same age, left shot D, little bit bigger had put up 34 points in 54 games in a MUCH better league. Guaranteed that if you put their numbers against each other analytics wise, Anderson comes out much further ahead.

- manvanfan

I’m ok with what could’ve been but I’ll stick to my hits & misses 1st. So far my 1st round picks have been pretty damn good overall. The 2nd round pretty meh. 3rd beyond all over the map & least time I spend on by far.

Oh yeah he was the guy older than JR. I guess JR wanted to be the unquestioned old man of the franchise so he wanted Hampson and Bruce out

If you can keep the the population stoned, stupid, distracted and fearful, you can control them easily.

I agree but I find the people that I know that smoke weed are the awakened ones maybe that’s why it was illegal for so long, JT legalizing it is confusing though, tax dollars and spiking it with chemicals is what I come up with, just like tobbaco organic nicotine is healthy it’s the chemicals that kill but then again they have chemtrails to contaminate the air and soil. These people are evil!

At the time, Rathbone was a player I wanted, and is 1 of the few in Canucks history, that I have gotten right, but it wasn't because I necessarily liked his style of play, I just thought it was worth a gamble, to try get a PP specialist, at that pick.

I know he is American and I wanted him.

Draft is in 30 days? News to me.
Had Makar in preseason. Don’t recall you on board at all. Probably in the AJHL crowd he’s not good. Difference is your recall sucks lol

Reading comprehension once again bites your ass. My picks were at where the Canucks pick. No D or C were worth it. Pointless to go on about trade down trades due to your disinterest in any imagination. How do you ever expect to get more picks if you prescribe to the JB school of lack of creativity?

Oh and you pulled that outta thin air how? You’re the type that grabs a brush & paints everything cuz on face value it MUST apply to everything all the time?

Just ask me on the 2023 1oa instead.

I'd say the trade comparables laid it out pretty good for if the Canucks and Oilers were to make that trade.

Edmonton: Stillman

Canucks: JP and Edm 2nd.

My deal is,

Edmonton: Schenn 875k UFA, Joshua 825k UFA2024

Canucks: Pullymyharvey 3m RFA 2023, Foegele 2.75m UFA2024, Raphael Lavoie, Edm 1st

Gives the Oilers cap space that they need ASAP. After the ALL-Star break they have to become compliant as Yamamoto is coming back and they will have to make a move. They get Schenn on bargain UFA contract to shore up their 2nd/3rd pairing. As well some toughness in Joshua that they definitely need. Joshua had some decent playoff numbers with the Blues.
Canucks get JP on an expiring deal that they can resign way cheaper and try the ole reclamation project or let walk if it doesn't work. Foegele, that has been a big disappointment since going to Edm from Car, but is a big body, only 26, probably a Tocchet type player, and only has a year left anyways. Could be a flipper next deadline on a rebound year. A good 22 year old 6'4" 196# C 2nd rounder(38OA) that is developing nicely in Bakersfield, and their 1st pick that should fall in the 18 - 20 range.
Is the EDM 1st too much, 2nd instead? The Oilers only have so many kicks left at a true Cup run before Drai and McD are up. The cap space is pure gold for them.
I'm no cap genius, but I think this can be squeezed in under the Canucks limit?
