Screams for a tank, then wants all the players that are great for tanking, to be gone.

Yeah, I want the OEL-Myers pair here to finish this season and for next season

With Stillman anchoring the 3rd pairing and Hughes-Bear playing against top lines

You hate hockey conversation if it doesn't support your narrative. That's why you usually move onto how much money you make, how nice the weather is where you live, how great your life is... how everyone is an idiot because of your hockey experience which over and over is laughable because you are as or more confused than the casuals..

Then you point the finger about toxic.... hearing this speech from an Ugly American wanna be is priceless.

They have zero value and they’re great for tanking. They’re going nowhere.

To me, and what do I know, if they truly thought they were gonna have a poor season like they’re having why on earth would they sign Miller, after a 99 point season, and Boeser to extensions? Miller had huge trade value. Which is now gone like my youth never to return. I think they were fooled.

The bold because as Rutherford says players like that aren't very common and if you don't pay them someone else will.

I don't think they expected the team to be this bad but the way Rutherford talked about defence being adequate and other things. I'm not surprised.

He has been trying to make trades for a while now. He talked about changing the culture.

Eventually they will get someone to take over from Bear, as the teams best defenseman.

That’s all I’m saying. They’re now adjusting to how wrong they were. poop happens.

Are you calling Carol's followers on social media idiots for agreeing with her takes on the Canuck's like you spent so much time doing in here?

Next year we can expect more of the same, I would think? Hopefully it’s like the Avalanche flex where they said “nope, this ain’t working”….time will tell.

Funny how he wants his players to show some edginess and talk some nasty smack and play rough but starts bawling when someone does it to him.

Our first mistake is listening to anything they say and taking it to heart. What they want and what they need to now do are two completely different things. As I keep saying, things change, time to adjust.

The plan is the plan but you can't just ignore things because of the plan. Holland offers you McDavid tomorrow, who the (frank) is going to say no even if you were selling and tanking.

I can handle that, I couldn't handle any more of what was going on the past decade or so.

True…it’s a fluid business. Players can surprise you. And disappoint you. Things can surprise you. Very few teams go full tank, like Arizona, they tried for years to be competitive to appease the fans and try to build on their small fan base, but it was a fruitless effort.

Hot take here, but given the current lineup, i'd probably make OEL the captain.
Pettersson and Hughes can wear an A.

I don't envy being a GM. There are few certainties in the NHL. Much easier to (frank) poop up than to get it right. Fans get the luxury of hindsight but Rutherford said in his press conference "I know more than you" Loved that.

Hot take, I would go the rest of this year and next year without one. This team doesn't currently have anyone that fits the bills and is going to be here long term for sure.

He's going nowhere
He's got experience
He's chill and could handle the media pressures
Would be the new whipping boy for all the hate

If he face washes the odd opponent, seems like most here would be satisfied.

That quote was in reference to the league’s perception of how they handled Bruce. JR said that he talked to execs, agents around the league and they didn’t think it was that bad.

I'd also bet that Rutherford has forgotten more than most will ever learn.
