Lefty actually says something intelligent, once in awhile.
- Reubenkincade

It’s when he is in the 3-5 pill range. Any less or more pills and he is just a fat unintelligent slob.

I usually disagree with you and all your takes, but this I fully agree, it's about the guy next to you on the bench knowing that you have their back and you knowing they have yours.
- DariusKnight

It’s the foundation of all good hockey teams. A very simple concept and he keeps bringing it back to fighting. No chance he has played hockey

(frank) you have sugary scrambled brains man. Hockey is a team game. They need to stick together / stick up for each other. They are a bunch of selfish, soft (frank)s playing for themselves. They need a (frank)ing pack mentality. Have you ever played hockey? Serious question
- CanuckDon

You are going to say they don't stick up for each other being 2nd in fighting majors?

You are asking me if I ever played hockey and I'm waiting for someone to mention anything about their identity during the play.

KY Jelly says it's not about fighting but nobody is mentioning anything else and Nucker keeps referencing scrums.

What about during the game? Forecheck? Dig for loose pucks? winning board battles? being first to loose pucks? Crashing the net together? Back checking hard shift in and out?

Does this team do any of that in a pack mentality for periods of the game instead of one guy does it one shift here and there while his teammates watch.

How about a shove? A slash? Bo couldn’t even swear at other players let alone touch them. I’ve never seen a more passive leader in hockey.
- CanuckDon

Mentored under Sedins so no shock. If Bo came up under Linden I'm thinking we have a very different player and Captain. Oh well what's done is done.

It's called having each other's back and it's more than the staged fights that happen that are more for entertainment than to actually send the message to the other team and other teams to "DO NOT (frank) WITH US!" that this group is incapable of sending.

Not going to be a problem for Bo on the Islanders, as they are a team that has your back, as opposed to the Canucks and their fans, who tend to think it has to be Schenn and Bo.

Explain then how you stand up for a teammate getting punched in the face? Do you face wash the guy? Can't fight because it's not about fighting. How do you do that? Stern stare?
- manvanfan

If it has to be explained to you the point is probably already lost on you. No one is talking about being the "third-man-in" to a fight. They're talking about just generally standing up for one another, two examples of that are, the punch that Garlund took, and the crosscheck Joshua took in front of the net where no one did anything, nothing, crickets. They didn't have to fight but someone should've reacted to those two instances.

Most, if not all, of the fights this year for the Canucks have been for individual reasons, not for guys sticking up for one another. I think Schenn has a couple but the guys don't generally seem to care for one another. Which is why they need to make major changes within that dressing room.

Just as I said, this was going to happen sooner than later

The return was a little underwhelming for sure, solid though, but I would have to venture the offers themselves were a little underwhelming. For all the people saying "they should have gotten a conditional pick!" or "they should have gotten an unprotected 1st!", it's a bit hard to get those if no one is offering that. We don't know what the market was like. They probably could have got a little more if they let teams talk with his agents, but then also could have forced a trade to a team that wasn't presenting the best offer.

One thing on the pick: it is more than likely going to be better than the Carolina/Boston/whatever other top team pick this year (late 20s), and if somehow the Islanders don't make the playoffs and the pick ends up getting pushed to next year... that's a non-playoff team who gave up a 1st, and could potentially turn into a top top pick I'm sure that was part of the weight of the trade, Ruthy gambling on the Islanders being a bad team

- NewYorkNuck

But what if it gets pushed to 2024 and the Islanders have a good season, make the playoffs and the Canucks pick in the 20's? It could backfire as well...

I think Elliotte suggested it as well.
