Not sure why this escapes so many people. They all must've been spanked as children.

For the next couple seasons, I am fine with teams taking liberties on this entitled group.

The sooner Schenn gets traded, the better.

Nowhere did I suggest this so I think you misinterpreted my post since I didn't specify an exact hypothetical situation. I was assuming we were talking about standing up for a teammate after a big hit. If your teammate is getting punched, he's either in a fight or just been sucker punched like Garland did so obviously if it's the latter you defend your teammate and throw some punches yourself. And again, if the entire team has a pack mentality, it won't turn into a one-on-one fight in that scenario, it'll turn into a scrum/brawl and eventually the most willing fighter on your side will likely step in to actually fight one-on-one if the guy who threw the sucker punch is a known fighter.

Plus it's more to send the message to other teams that you aren't going to take being sucker punched without retaliation. It might prevent things like Petey getting bodyslammed and injured during his rookie season. Or other examples of teams having no fear doing poop to one of our "top" players.

That sad part is that would actually happen more if divisional rivals saw the Canucks as a threat or in a playoff series, if anything the top skill guys have it easy because the Canucks have zero rivalries right now.

I think Schenn(traded soon), Joshua and Burroughs(in and out of the lineup) are 3 guys who bring that pack mentality, the rest of the team not so much.

Pod as well but he's in the AHL and he can't fight as we saw. He needs to learn how to defend himself in a fight.

Cizikias for like another 7 years

He's a 4th liner. offer him 10k to change his number. He;s about to get a pay day, not like he can't afford it

I’m sure this was offered to him. He probably wants to leave this year as a distant memory.

Considering how much they lowballed him, I'd say yeah, any good feeling he had for the organization before last and this year is gone.

I doubt I would out of respect since he has been wearing that number there for years and is signed there for more than the next few months.

Bo talked about this in his interview that Nucker posted yesterday, he said, Czikas has been in the league a longtime and worn #53 well. He later said he hadn't thought about what number to wear.

How about a shove? A slash? Bo couldn’t even swear at other players let alone touch them. I’ve never seen a more passive leader in hockey.

Have you never played team sports? You don’t have to fight every game, but you can’t turn the other cheek either. Gaining team respect is all about the player sticking up for each other, it’s all part of a healthy dressing room.

Doesn't even have to be a fight if you're not a fighter, and you'
re the closest teammate, start a scrum with some shoves and a few face washes, have the team take the number of the guy who threw the hit and throw a couple of big hits back during the next few shifts.

It won't suddenly turn this team into a contender, but it will make them more endeared by the fans and maybe this fanbase will be less negative if the team is at least likeable. Right now they're not likeable or winning so it's hard for the fanbase to stay positive.

Meanwhile you look at a losing team like the Habs and the vibes are completely different.

The other team will be afraid of you if you start a scrum and face wash them while they punch you in the face.

(frank) are you dumb this morning.

- manvanfan

(frank) you have sugary scrambled brains man. Hockey is a team game. They need to stick together / stick up for each other. They are a bunch of selfish, soft (frank)s playing for themselves. They need a (frank)ing pack mentality. Have you ever played hockey? Serious question

You fail to see the big picture, yet again, it’s not about fighting, it’s about building a culture. Standing up for one another. A team mentality. Something that doesn’t currently exist in Vancouver.

I usually disagree with you and all your takes, but this I fully agree, it's about the guy next to you on the bench knowing that you have their back and you knowing they have yours.
