Just reading some new articles on the Athletic.

“Aatu Raty scouting report

The Isles did well to mine value out of Raty. They took a chance on him in the second round at the draft after his stock plummeted. He bounced back with an excellent, point-per-game post-draft season in Liiga, made the move to North America at 19, made his NHL debut at 20, and has now turned into a tradeable asset.

On the flip side, though, while he’s more of a B or B-plus prospect, his absence will be felt in an Islanders pool that was already among the thinnest in the NHL. He was their clear No. 1 prospect and should become an everyday NHL player. Raty’s a pro-sized forward with good skills of dexterity handling and transporting pucks, and has developed his skating so that he can play with more pace and interior drive. I don’t think he’s dynamic on the puck, nor the smartest player on the ice, but he’s a toolsy player who you’ll notice when he’s on. — Wheeler”

Ideally I think Reino could be a top 2 D ceiling. Simo maybe the same. Either way either would be a scoop with our 2nd 1st pick. Wouldn’t trade down from 6oa but the right offer could make it a homerun draft when 2 1sts is already great.

👍🏻 man he was fun to watch at the WJC

Yup. I just don't think some people appreciate a player who knows how to play at both ends of the ice.

A C has to be 2-way if a team is to go far. Wingers are not C’s for this very reason besides other skills.

Oh. I assumed with 12 games played (2 goals) he would start here to see what they have. I'm ok with that.

So who's eating Horvat's minutes?

Beau us. Miller moves to centre and Beau takes Miller's spot on wing.

I didn’t or wasn’t going far when I played but as a C I stir the drink & led my line til they converted me to D. Every line breaks down if the C doesn’t lead. Takes a very special rarest of rare winger to change that.

In Bo he was good but never really was a play driver a scorer always & great in the PO’s but be needed others to do the dirty work.

I understood that Beau was more of a 2nd, 3rd line winger.

No they are going to let him cook in the A! Great call. Nobody is replacing Bo’s minutes. Likely Studnika. The tank is on

So NYI 1st is top 12 protected. Is that before or after the lottery? What if the pick wins 3oa?
