If Beauvillier does ok in Vancouver, they can always flip him at the next deadline if he's not going to be part of their future.
It's a decent trade and a lot better than Vantel's nightmare scenario.

It feels like this deal is a knee-jerk reaction in the part of JR/PA. Beauvillier, Raty and a protected 1st for Horvat is the best they could do? I mean, ok? I can see the upside with Raty and Beauvillier being a replacement for Mik but that first should have been unprotected it else they should have given up another prospect. One wonders if they waited they could have gotten more somewhere else.
- DariusKnight

On the waiting we gotta believe JR/PA heard the best teams would pay for a UFA & LL maybe sweetened the offer a bit. Taking Beauvillier is for cap reasons imo. Not a bad thing being more is to come. Hog has stagnated & it’s a message to him & somewhat Pod.

Let’s just say that after his initial “new team bump” wears off and fans go “I like him!” he’ll fit in nicely with Boeser/Garland/Pearson
- Nucker101

Well i hope he's lonely then and none of Boeser/Garland/Pearson are on the team anymore.

I agree with Vantel that at least the trade wasn't with Toronto. That one made me shudder.

Can't say i'm up to date on any NYI prospects/players, but the one thing i'm pleased with is mgmt getting the deal done ahead of the TDL and putting this one to bed.

Hopefully more to come.

Been reading Isles fans thoughts on him.

It’s not like Beau hasn’t had chances in NYI. He’s been given a look with guys like Barzal and Nelson(more with Nelson) as his Center in the past but I believe lately he’s mostly played with Pageau.

He’s apparently just a meh player who’ll have streaks of play that excite you. I bet he’ll look good during his first 15 or so games in Vancouver but once that excitement wears off then we’ll likely see the Isles version of him.

I like the idea of playing him with EP and trying to pump and dump him eventually

Not complaining just skeptical. Until we watch them fit on the roster I don't have a lot of opinion.
- VANTEL

Beau should get more opportunity to open up his game. Like his speed. Best part is him & Raty are young & the 1st will be in a good range. Prime to have a prospect fall to us or it’s for a D that isn’t a much of a stretch at most.

Beau is from the same draft class as Boeser. I think he is who he is at this point.

But yeah at least he can skate

So what's up with Anthony Beauvillier?

Does he have wheels?

49 GP with 9g and 11a on the NYI so hopefully good for 20/20 in a middle 6 role?

- dbot

The Islanders are a low scoring team. He is in on about 1/7th of their goals.

Yup.
Got back home to a week of nice weather and then it started to rain!
Crazy amount of water came down on Friday, but we're all good.
Camping trip was cancelled but consolation prize was a great concert on Sunday night.

I’m hoping this is the play. This and Boeser for a dman. Schenn for what you can get. If that’s how it plays out, I’ll be pretty happy

On NYI getting Bo it’s obviously for a PO push & try to resign. One thing is Bo had Miller on the PP to pump him up & idk if NYI has the playmakers to feed Bo. Could we free up more cap & resign him?

I agree. Was hoping to see Bo go to Boston, but am okay with this trade.

Hope to see another 4 or 5, by TDL.

Boeser is an enigma for many teams. Maybe a GM gets a lil nervous leading up to the TDL. Schenn if traded I want a pick not a Foote who is just another 3rd pair D that isn’t all that mobile.

He is a 3rd line guy, who can fill in up the lineup, and plays a pressure game when killing penalties. Sounds like a player Tocchet wants.
